I am so saddened by this terrible loss. Carmen and I shared a decades long friendship (including being roommates in our youth for a few years right after college). Her zest for life was infectious and she made connections and friends everywhere with her energy, banter and laughter. My heartfelt condolences to Craig and the families.

I met Carmen thru the SCLRR. I had delivered several dogs to her for to foster. She would take a Labrador in, love it, make it ready for a family, then wave goodbye as it was on its way to their forever home. She was a remarkable woman and I was fortunate to have known her.

I'll miss you, Carmen. I always enjoyed your stories about your fosters and of course your mischievous Lucy. Thank you for all you did to rescue and to care for beautiful Labs. Rest in peace knowing you were dearly loved.

Carmen was such a nice person and welcomed me when I joined the lab rescue. She loved her all her fosters fur babies! We even ran a few races together:). Rest in peace.

Even though I never met Carmen, I knew she was very active with SCLRR and I was just shocked by her passing. So sorry for your loss to her family and the SCLRR family. An angel rests above for eternity. Bev Loyd

Carmen was a beautiful light that loved taking care of dogs. She was a wonderful foster mom for almost 40 dogs with our rescue group. She loved them all and always wanted the best families for them. She will be missed. My condolences to Craig, Lucy, Piper and her family.

I´m so very sorry for the loss of a wonderful human. Carmen was my mentor when I first started fostering labs. She always checked in to see how I was doing and of course, the dogs. If I had any questions, she wouldn´t text me, she always called me back. She taught me how to spot the right forever home for our labs. Prayers for comfort and peace for all of Carmen´s family and friends.

I am so sad to hear this news. Carmen was a Nagisa regular. My husband and I just loved running into her there and had some great conversations. I will miss seeing her always walking around Corona Del Mar. Rest in peace my beautiful friend

Carmen and Craig fostered almost 40 dogs, many of which we would not have otherwise been able to save. Carmen is very much missed by her fellow volunteers at Lab Rescue.

I´ve known Carmen since she was little. Her parents would vacation in the duplex Nextdoor to me in Santa Cruz during summers.
I had net seen her until a year ago . It was great you see her and reconnect. And now she´s gone ((( too young ((((? May she rest in peace . She was a ball of energy and a bright light .
