Carmine Francis Caruso

Carmine Francis Caruso passed away on June 23, 2024, at the age of 92 in Pompano Beach, Florida. Born on June 8, 1932, in New York City, NY, Carmine's life was marked by devotion to family, service, and community.

Carmine honorably served in the United States Air Force for four years, followed by an additional four years in the Reserves, dedicating a significant portion of his life to national service. The skills and discipline acquired during this time were evident in all aspects of his life, particularly in his personal pursuits.

Carmine's life was marked by a profound love for creation, particularly anything related to the ocean. He was also a skilled gardener who took great pride in his orchids. A social butterfly, Carmine cherished the times spent playing poker with his family and friends and was known for winding down each day with his wife Cheryl and their signature cocktails.

He leaves behind his wife, Cheryl Caruso; his sons, Jerry, Robbie, Jamie, and Tommy; his daughter, Laureen; his 5 daughters-in-law, Joanie, Debbie, Gloria, Jen and Ursula as well as his stepson, Jimmy Nykaza. His legacy also lives on through 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.

Carmine was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean; sons Gene and Billy; parents, Margaret and Carmine; brothers Joe, Donnie, George, and Tom; and sisters, Chris, Mary, and Rita.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday July 1st at 11am at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, 1400 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Carmine's memory, supporting the fight against a disease that affects so many.

His life was a testament to his strong will, creativity, and the joy he found in simple pleasures. Carmine will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and as he always signed off...I Love You, Bye-Bye
