EDEN - Our beloved Mother, Carol Elaine Wendt Barker, departed for Heaven for an eternity of bliss on Thursday morning, November 30, 2006.
A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Wesleyan Church located at 186 East Aiken Road at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 3. Visitation will start at 1 p.m. with church service to follow and laying our Mother to rest at the Overlook Cemetery.
Mom was born on October 14, 1938 in Munising, Michigan and resided in Michigan until she moved to North Carolina.
Our Mom, to us, was the best we could have ever been given. Our time with her will be cherished and held in our hearts. Mom was a very caring and loving person and enjoyed time with her family. Mom was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed Christian television, the Food Network channel and drinking Diet Sundrop.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, son, Robbin Barker and his children, Laura and Justin Barker; daughter, Cheryl Barker and son Josh Carlisle; daughter, Christine VanZandt and Felipe Pichardo and their children, Michelle VanZandt, Ashley VanZandt and Amber VanZandt; daughter, Cathy Carter and husband, Darryl Carter and their children, Teresa Curry, Lisa Carter and Kayluh Carter; son, Donnie Barker and wife, Maggie and their children, Cameron and Erika Barker; and son, Kevin Barker and wife, Chrissy and their children, Jacob and Megan Barker. Mom is also survived by her brothers, Donald Bruce Wendt and wife, Ann, John Wendt and wife, Jane; sisters, Gloria and her husband Eugene, and Diane Marsh; brother, Mike Wendt and his friend, Mark Tilburg.
Mom was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Barker, her husband, General Ralph Barker, her sister, Lorraine Alcorn and her beloved Mother, Lydia Wendt and beloved Father, Carroll Wendt.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in her name to Trinity Wesleyan Church, 186 E. Aiken Rd., Eden, N.C. 27288.
The family will be meeting at her home, 821 Hill Street, Eden.
We would like to invite friends to come and celebrate the life of our Mom. May God bless you as he has blessed us.
