Carol Bates

Carol Bates passed from this life while in the comfort of her home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2023. Carol, who was seventy, the daughter of James and Christina Bates, grew up in Westwood, New Jersey. She resided in Bloomingdale, New Jersey for the past 35 years. Carol is survived by her loving partner of ten years, Keith Eller and three beloved children, Paul Babler; Christina Nafalski and her husband Robert; and Carrie Moscatelli and her husband Robert. Carol was grandmother to five cherished grandchildren, Robert, Hunter, Jacob, Madalyn and Jameson. She was the dear sister to three siblings, Stephen Bates, Thomas Bates and Nancy Fontanella as well as the beloved aunt to many nephews and nieces.

Carol spent many fulfilling years as a teacher's aide in the Bloomingdale School District where she adored working with the children. She also worked at Lowe's and was both a bartender and a waitress at Vitale's Restaurant in Teaneck.

Carol's pastimes included gardening, country music and cooking. She also enjoyed zipping around in her yellow VW Beetle convertible. Carol's infectious smile and personality made her a joy to be around. She will be missed by many.

A memorial service will be held for Carol in the near future. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Carol Bates.
