Loved her show! I have been making the string picture holders for the last 21 years, they display a yearly picture of my granddaughter and is displayed as a garland hanging on the fireplace at Christmas time.

So saddened to hear of Carol's passing! I watched the Carol Duvall show and taped most of them on my vcr. I still have them and watch them as they still give so much inspiration for all kinds of crafting, Carol truely was the Queen of crafts. I wrote to her on facebook page and she actually answered me and I was over the top with joy. Rest in Peace my Friend and keep a place open for the rest of us! See You On The Other Side!

I watched her on TV and learned from her over many years. I can still close my eyes and, in my memory, see her creating something special. She was a great communicator and teacher. A woman that everyone wanted to be their neighbor and friend. My condolences to her family.

I'm so loved her show on HGTV. Each morning at 5:00 am while on the Nordic Track I reviewed my taping of her show. Printed out many of her crafts and have done over the years. She was such a kind person as she spoke and instructed through TV. May she rest in peace.

I was so saddened to hear of her passing. We welcomed you into our home as often as possible, I probably still have craft projects and ideas I printed off of my computer for my dear mother and I to do. I remember recording her show when I couldn't watch on my vhs, she inspired me and so did the guests on her show. I never missed an episode. My mom watched her show too, and we were both crafters. There was no one like her and she will always live in our hearts. God rest her soul

I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. I watched her back in the '60s on a local Detroit station. When in 7th grade, I was on the afternoon shift in school. I got off the bus just a minute before her program at 5:55. I'd run in and tune her in before even taking off my coat. I'm still crafting today, especially using "scraps" such as corks, wooden spools, popsicle sticks, etc. that she taught you to save for future use. I make a new ornament each year my nieces and nephews, now numbering 21. She will always be part of me.

So, sadden to hear of Carol Duval passing, I recorded many, many of her shows. There has never been anyone who could take her place in crafting. I was recently thinking of her and her crafts. To all the members of her family I and so sorry for your loss. May she rest in crafting heaven.

I am saddened and so sorry to hear of Carol's passing.
I first began watching her on the Home Show, then to HGTV, and finally on DIY. My VCR was always set to record all of her shows. When I was ready to relax and unwind at the end of my work day, I would sit down and watch her show, pen and pad in hand to take notes of all the wonderful projects she and her guests would show us. I always felt encouraged and excited to try all the new crafts she would make; she was a true inspiration to me! Her demeanor and presentation style was so genuine that it was like she was sitting and talking with friends in her living room.
Sadly, when her last program had ended, I never found another program quite like hers that filled that crafting void.
She was a real gem and I send my heartfelt sympathies and prayers to her family.

I'm a 75 year old man, when I read her name here, it echoed off the walls. How do I remember Carol Duvall? Remember, we only received three or four stations on TV in the mid-1950s, so if she was on TV, we'd know! Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, or a local show with Carol Duvall in it!
There is one other explanation as to why I remember her (at least her name) all these years ;
A CRUSH!? Could very well be but a shy single-digit year old boy-kid would never 'fess up at that age.

Oh, My Carol Duvall was the Best Ever, She's the one who inspired me to watch HGTV Years Ago. (I do believe it was in 1994 or 1995. if I'm not mistaken. What A Lady, full of simple ideas to help you turn your house into a home with Simple Items on a budget !! Much Love & Respect To You Carol. What A Sweetheart She Was. HGTV Has Now Come To Be A Very Successful Channel All Over The World!
She indeed had inspired others to the world of HGTV, like Christopher Lowell, and Mrs.Lynette, plus others that I can't recall at this moment.
It's Just Amazing how one idea from Carol Duvall has now Snowballed decades later into this Wonderful DIY/ of Pro's Channel... WOW!!
You will always be remembered Carol Duvall.. The One Who Paved The Way to the empire that HGTV has Become Decades Later In 2023!
We will get to see you on the otherside someday.

Sincere sympathies to Carol's family and friends. She was an integral part of my crafting life since I was a little girl watching her on Channel 7 ABC here in Metro Detroit. I still have a little craft guide book from that era back in the 70's! Carol, you have been missed on TV and will forever be a part of my heart.
