Carol was an outstanding role model and strong inspiration, especially for other female professors. She was always willing to listen and to share her wisdom unselfishly. Her life stood for others, and she will be missed in my heart, as well as my mind.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Carol's passing. She was an incredible colleague, and an even better friend. Her nonjudgmental support saw me through some very dark times. I will miss her optimistic and hopeful take on any situation. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Carol befriended and nurtured many students over the years. As a graduate student new in town I appreciated her many kindnesses and interest in my scholarship. Her place on this earth will be hard to fill.

Carol Marol -- my friend and colleague. A great teacher, supervisor, department chair, friend. Thank you for hiring me back in 1991 to work in LLE. Thank you for wonderful memories working together and calling on me to help look after your kitty children when needed. I missed you when you retired and I miss you now. I was blessed to know you. Heaven just received another angel.

The beauty of a life well loved lives on and on. In the still moments, may we remember the love and the happy times...and find comfort in these memories. For words can not express all the heart longs to say. Be blessed.

The countless hours at the swimming pool...summer vacations...dinners at Hunan...drawing dogwood blooms for the program cover...always siamese cats...all things Carol. I told my daughter last night, "I wish your childhood had Aunt Carol in it like mine did." You have been a blessing, and will be deeply missed.

There are no words for my sadness with this loss. Carol was surely my mentor, but most of all a compassionate and caring friend. She lived a full and rich life as a single woman, which continues to be an important model for me. Without her guidance and direction, I would never have been able to complete my doctorate at UGA ... returning at 40 was quite a challenge. My deepest love to her family and friends, and all in the Language Ed Department who I know will miss her as much as I. Carolyn Gabb

I'll never forget you treated the secretaries in your department to a ladies luncheon when I was working there many years ago and you were the most gracious hostess ever. Thank you for making me feel so welcome in your home and in your department. Peaceful vibes to the best boss ever.

You are loved and missed Aunt Carol. You were my inspiration for moving and teaching overseas and that will be remembered forever. You loved our family like your own, my brother and I are better people for spending years knowing you.

Life without my dear friend,Carol will not be the same. She was the sister I did not have and we shared so many wonderful things during the past 38 years. Thank you Carol for being a part of my family all these years.
