Carol Ann Flis

Carol Ann Flis, 85, of Upland CA sadly left us on March 6, 2024 following complications after a stroke. She is survived by: Lisa Carter, her daughter; Monte Carter, son-in-law; Alexandra Carter, granddaughter, and her partner Alexander Bodnar; Shannon Carter, granddaughter, and her partner Timothy Simmons; Gregory and Alexis Carter, grandson; and Tony Flis, Carol's son; Seandor Flis, grandson, and his partner Leela Kelley; and Ryan Flis, grandson; and a close family friend, Sherri Lebron and her family. She joins her loving husband, Anthony "Tony" Frances Flis in heaven.

Carol was born, Carol Ann Pocsik, August 9, 1938 in Cleveland OH. She was the eldest daughter of Alexander Pocsik and Mary Elizabeth (Kasza) Pocsik, and was sister and lifelong friend to James Pocsik. After marrying her husband, Tony, they relocated to California where they raised their family and built their dream home on O'malley Way in Upland.

After working as a stay at home mom while the children were young, Carol took pride in owning her own business, a legal secretarial service, until retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing the organ, boating, traveling, playing the slots and cards, spending time in her yard and pool, watching Dodger games, and cooking with her husband and eating what he baked. Carol was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a good friend- she will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held in Carol's honor at 11:15 am, on Monday April 29th at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. There she will rest next to her late husband, Tony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol's name to the Macular Society, https://www.macularsociety.org.
