XENIA — Carol Ann Kendig Huston, age 91 of Xenia passed away Thursday afternoon at the Greenewood Manor in Xenia where she had resided the past several years. She was born December 24, 1926 in Xenia the only child of Edward H. & Virginia (Ralls) Kendig. Carol graduated from Xenia High School in 1944 where she played in the band, was a majorette and played the violin. She was a 60+ year member of the Faith Community United Methodist Church. Carol's hobbies included knitting, playing cards (Euchre), crocheting, seamstress, jigsaw puzzles and was an animal lover. She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol is survived by her husband of 73 years, Don William Huston whom she married March 17, 1945 in the old First Methodist Church parlor: sons James W. (Ann) Huston of Xenia, John E. Huston of Lexington, KY, grandchildren Elizabeth A."Beth" Huston, Xenia, Bradley J. and Bryan T. Huston of MI, great grandchildren Maliah Huston, Xenia Wyatt, Spencer and Nolan Huston of MI, a niece Joyce Sheridan, Jamestown, a nephew Roger Huston ,PA, a cousin Sally Miller of Germantown as well as other family members and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:30PM on Monday April 9, 2018 at the McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc. 826 N. Detroit Street Xenia with Rev. Ron Swiger officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be from 11:30 until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jamestown Families Cancer Care, P.O. Box 35, Jamestown, Ohio 45335. I had the great honor and privilege to play violin while seated next to Carol in the XHS orchestra. She was not only an accomplished musician, but galdly served as a tutor for other orchestra members.
