Carol Lee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 29, 2017.
Columbus, Indiana

Carol S. Lee, 73, of Columbus died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Columbus Regional Health.

A Connersville native, Carol was born September 4, 1944 to Charles and Fern Wines Theobold. She attended Connersville area schools and graduated from Short High School, Liberty in 1962.
Carol married her high school sweet heart, Ralph Lee on October 2, 1964 in Pinellas, Florida. Having a close knit family, they moved home after a year of residing in Florida. For the last forty years, Columbus has been their home. She loved children and would especially display that during Halloween and Christmas. Carol was a genuinely generous person and loved participating in Angel Tree and filling shoe boxes with gifts for children. She remembered all of her family and friends birthdays and never missed the opportunity to give a thoughtful gift. Carol was a collector and loved to search antique malls and garage sales for crystal glass wear, Christmas tree ornaments, purses and ornate 1928 style jewelry. In her leisure time, she and Ralph would "Wander Indiana"; taking off on weekends to explore the state. Carol loved Little Nashville and eating Brown County Biscuits fried with apple butter. They also enjoyed traveling to Louisville with their close friends for a night of dancing. Carol will be remembered for her happy go lucky personality.

Carol is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Ralph Lee and their beloved dog, Malli. She is also survived by her good friends: Ruth Taybos, Judy Showalter and Rick Holtsclaw.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and her good friend, Connie Holtsclaw.

Ralph, please accept my condolences. I was just notified about Carol's passing by an old classmate. Unfortunately, we were not able to maintain a relationship over the years as our paths diverged so greatly. However, I have fond memories of us a children and our families who were close thanks to Fern and Dorothy. When I saw her picture, I recalled vividly how striking she was as a young high school girl. I also recall how close the two of you were and I am sure her loss will be difficult for you. I wish you the very best...

Renembering Carol with many childhood memories. She lived two doors down from my grandfather and we played together before we ever started school. Back in the mid sixties, my late husband and I visited she and Ralph while our husbands were stationed at Ft Rucker, Alabama. Deepest sympathy to you Ralph for your loss of a special lady.
