Carol was a bright light. As the work got harder her spirit and humor would shine through. I remember one time we were working past midnight, and Carol found something funny to lighten the mood, and we just sat there and laughed and laughed.

Always a joyful person. I remember working late one night and about midnight Carol and I got the giggles over a funny Youtube we watched as we took a short break. The others in the room were not as amused. The next day she told us she laughed all the way home that night. I miss her a lot.

Mike, Kevin and Emily, we are so very sorry you are dealing with this unimaginable loss. Carol was a smiling, bright, welcoming presence and our family was always happy to be in her company. To Kevin and Emily, your mother always bragged about you both and spoke with pride about your awards, trips, accomplishments and experiences. Remember to keep going and doing the things that made her so very proud. With love from the Rivells:Brian, Paula, Matt, Emily and Colin.

My prayers are with you, Mike, Emily and Kevin, for your loss of Carol. I first encountered Carol when new to Burlington County, and Memorial Hospital medical staff in 1987. Carol was inspirational as a colleague focused on the highest healthcare quality. She assisted me in establishing the Virtua Medical Group Qualty committee and measurement process in 2008. She was always optimistic, gracious, and wise. Her commitment to Qualty will endure in the memory and actions of the Virtua Health community. Mary F. Campagnolo,MD

Carol was a valued colleague and great supporter of women's health. She was instrumental in taking us on the quality journey. Through her efforts Memorial and its successor organization Virtua reached a higher level of excellence. She will be greatly missed but more importantly the health care community will miss her leadership and compassion.

Carol was the ultimate leader and mentor to all of us in Healthcare whom are there to make a difference in the care of the patients and family we are there to serve. Her entire focus was always with the patient front and center. She lead us to achieve great things not for the outcome of recognition, but for the improvment of quality, safety and expereince for those who allow us to care for them. Thank you Carol for your leadership and constant knowledge sharing you did for all us.
