AFTERGLOW
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is gone.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times, and laughing times, and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

I was so very sorry to learn that Carol had passed. We were very good friends in high school and the first few years we were married, the same amount of years as she was. When my husband and I moved to Michigan while Charlie was in grad school, we still corresponded and then drifted apart as sometimes happens. I really enjoyed our friendship. Carol was a loving and kind person. She will be missed.
