Carol Parsons, 75, a resident of Hamburg, NJ, peacefully died surrounded by her family on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center.
Carol was born in Amsterdam, NY and grew up in her family home on White Street in Schenectady, NY. She met and married her beloved husband James H. Parsons (Jim) while attending Russell Sage College (he attended the neighboring school of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute). Jim was the love of her life and her soulmate. They enjoyed music, golfing, cooking, gardening, and spending time with their three children, friends and family. They moved several times during their 28 year marriage including homes in the Troy area of NY; Freehold, NJ; Norcross, GA; Voorhees, NJ; and Sparta, NJ. After her husband Jim’s passing, Carol and her family relocated to a beautiful home in Mount Arlington, NJ on Lake Hopatcong where they enjoyed lake living before she found her final home in Hamburg, NJ.
Carol loved being with her children and her “extended” family. She was known to many as “mom” and opened up her home to so many of her children’s friends. She loved her dachshunds Sammy and Peaches - who could often be found cuddling next to her on the couch. During Carol’s free time, she could often be found reading a book or doing a variety of word puzzles.
Carol is predeceased by her husband, James H. Parsons (1997). Carol is survived by her beloved son and caregiver for many years James A. Parsons of Hamburg, NJ; her daughters Rebecca (Becky) Parsons of Malta, NY, and her partner Glenn Bender; Amanda (Parsons) LaGanga, and her husband, Chris LaGanga of Flemington, NJ; her three grandchildren Jack Ormond, Tyler LaGanga, Ava LaGanga; and one sister Jane Schultz.
Carol’s family will be celebrating her life with a private event later this year.

I have fond memories of Carol growing up over the years with family on White Street. Carol was the younger sister of my friend, Jane. We enjoyed many fun times together all those many years ago.
My husband and I send our heartfelt sympathies and prayers to all her family. Special memories can be priceless treasures, and sometimes help fill some of the emptiness in one's heart over time
May you find embracing Peace,
Carol and Dan Wojcik
