Carol SNAPE Obituary

Published by Calgary Herald on Jan. 3, 2014.
SNAPE, Carol Joan
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend, Carol Joan Snape, passed away peacefully at the age of 66 years on Sunday, December 29, 2013 in Calgary, AB. Carol is greatly missed by her mother, Helen Snape; siblings, Jean Snape, Frank Snape, Bonnie (Brent) Schenher and Penny (Ron) Snape; sons, Richard, Kelly (Caroline) and Derek (Terra); grandsons, Andrew, Kale, Braydon, Spencer and Brandon, as well as her many other cherished friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her loving father, Aubrey Laurence Snape. We share in her great happiness at her reunion with her father, by the promise of our Father in Heaven. Born July 16, 1947 in Calgary, Carol was raised in a dedicated Christian family. With her father's work for CN Rail, the family lived in many small towns across Saskatchewan. In 1965, she married Ted Moorman in Melfort and together they raised three children so very fortunate to have Carol as their caring and loving mother. Carol helped support the family as she worked as an accountant until her early retirement. In recent years, Carol was always at her happiest at the Higher Trails Equine ranch. She loved being at the ranch and helped care for many rescue horses. Thanks to her friend Bob, Carol was able to spend so many days at the ranch. She especially loved her grandchildren and experienced much joy when sharing time with them. She kept Christmas in her heart and it showed in her loving, happy smile. A Celebration of Carol's Life will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Chad Verge of Living Springs Christian Fellowship will lead the Service. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Higher Trails Equine, Box 551, Okotoks, AB T1S 1A7. Funds received will provide medical treatment and ongoing care of the rescue horses so loved by Carol. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca. FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM. Telephone: 403-297-0888. Honoured Provider of Dignity Memorial.

This is the eve of Carol's funeral, and I thought I had all my emotions in tact.
Then why do I not want to face tomorrow?
As my tears fall, I realize I don't want to say goodbye.
Funerals are for closure; and yes; Carol is in a better loving place without hurt or sorrow but she is leaving a big hole in my heart that I am sure can never be filled by anyone but Carol. I am selfishly feeling my loss in a wonderful friend too soon taken from me.

Carol. My dear sister. How I miss you. I loved our talks, especially on Skype out on the deck in the summer. And knowing that you were always just a text away. You were so courageous and I was so proud of you. I loved your childlike enthusiasm about taking part in so many things. Like birthday parties, trips to the mountains and ranch. Enjoying your new life in Calgary. You were such a kind and caring person. A wonderful sister and such a great friend to so many. I will miss your laugh and your beautiful smile. Until we meet again. I love you and miss you so much. Give Dad a hug from me.

Mom was a caring and loving friend and a wonderful mother. I am so fortunate to have shared so many years with her. She had such a flood of happiness about the ranch and especially for her grandsons. She passed far too early and I dearly miss her. Her kind and generous spirit brought many good things to my life. I look forward to celebrating her presence in our hearts with her dear friends.

Carol - I loved our many visits at the ranch, your gentle heart towards both people and the horses was an example to many. We had some good laughs and some tears. We rejoice in the fact that you are in a place of no pain and tears, but we will miss you alot.

I first met Carol at the Supertrain SHow in Calgary back about 2006, when my friend Rob Fisher introduced us. Carol had a great interest in railroads and grain elevators and we hit it right off. She always bought a grain elevator wall calendar from me, and also bought a couple copies of my books as well.

She was a great friend, and will be terribly missed.

Carol & I met in High School and became boyfriend/girlfriend for a time. Years later she found me and became one of my very best friends. She loved going out to Higher Trails ranch with me and being my personal photographer for me and my horse Willie. She was the kindest, most generous person I know. I will miss her dearly!
