Carol Taylor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 28, 2024.
Hanover - Carol Ann Taylor died on June 27th at the age of 83 surrounded by her family.

Carol, often called "Mimi," was a five-foot-tall firecracker whose energy, smile and positivity was felt by every person she knew. She loved fiercely and family was everything to her.

She was born on February 10,1941 to Sal and Mary Corso. She grew up in Norwood, MA where she also met and married the love of her life, Charles Taylor in 1963. Their marriage was a storybook romance filled with so much laughter, dancing, July 4th celebrations, parties and raising their family. Carol couldn't have been prouder than to be a stay-at-home mom to the "four children she had in five years" - Stephen, Leigh-Ann, Alison and Brad.

Carol and Charlie built a home in Hingham, MA where they lived for 27 years and became such an important part of the community. She was a constant on the sidelines and in the rinks, always with a bag of oranges for half-time. She was also an incredible cook and showed her love through food. She was the first to show up with a crock pot of meatballs for anyone in need and always had two extra plates at the dinner table to welcome any friends who might just happen to show up when her meal was promptly served at 6 PM every day. Nothing made her happier than a noisy Sunday dinner with her entire family.

Carol had a zest for life, the right amount of sass and a fierce competitive streak. She could run a five-minute mile back in the day and beat anyone in Cribbage, Bridge, Rummy 500 or Bocce. She taught every child how to chew gum, blow a bubble and drive a stick shift. Carol made a statement wherever she went, bombing around Hingham in her decked-out van with a lightning bolt on the side that she lovingly called Vanessa. She was also always dressed to the nines for every holiday party or parade. Her colorful, bold outfits were a signature staple and captured her fun spirit beautifully.

Carol always made every person she was with feel like the most special person in the world and forged so many deep friendships throughout her life, spanning Hingham, New Seabury, Marco Island and Walnut Creek. Her love and kindness was especially felt from her nine grandchildren who towered over her and always showered her with the biggest hugs that filled her heart.

Carol is survived by her son Stephen Taylor and wife Lara of Hanover, MA; daughter Leigh-Ann Hull and husband Mike of Marietta, GA; daughter Alison DaSilva and husband Aaron of Hanover; and son Brad Taylor and wife Lisa of Hingham. She leaves behind nine grandchildren Samantha, Zachary, Bryan, Benjamin, Jordan, Ethan, Maxwell, Charles and Theodore and her beloved dog Harvey.

While Carol will be missed by so many every day, there is some peace knowing that she is reunited with her forever love, her husband and best friend, Charlie.

Friends and family are invited to Carol's Celebration of Life on Sunday, July 7th from 2-6 PM at the Lincoln Room at South Shore Country Club in Hingham, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.

I love you Carol and the world will be less bright without your shining presence in it. Favorite memories... going to lunch at Chili's with you and my mom for Connor's first trip to a restaurant, the beautiful blue sundress you lent me for my photoshoot, your fabulous and 40+ year friendship with my mom that showed how women can and should support other women, trusting me to paint the garden mural, so many CBW memories... you will forever be missed.

I loved playing Bunko with Carol and Larry and I will treasure our times when we went to fun dinners with her. Truly a joyful, beautiful lady. Prayers for Carol´s beloved family.
