Carol VADNAIS Obituary
1945 - 2014
Laval, August 31, 2014, passed away Carol Vadnais, widower of Raymonde Charbonneau at the age of 68 years and 11 months. He leaves behind his daughter Michèle (Alain Journault) and grandchildren Alexis and Ariane, as well as his sisters Camille (Gilles Arbour) and Louise (Bertrand Ducharme), his brother Marcel, family and friends. The family will receive you at the Complexe funéraire Yves Légaré at 1350, Autoroute 13 South, Laval (Québec) H7X 3W9 on Thursday, September 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and on Friday, September 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at 1 p.m. at Saint Maxime's Church at 3700, boulevard Levesque, West Chomedey-Laval (Québec) H7V 1E8. In lieu of flowers, donations to La Maison des soins palliatifs de Laval inc., 655, rue Bellevue, Laval (Québec) H7C 0A8 would be much appreciated. His daughter Michèle and the family would like to thank the personnel and volunteers at La Maison des soins palliatifs de Laval inc. for their support. Special thanks go to Dr. Jacques Laplante, Oncologist, for the excellent care afforded Carol and, in particular, for his remarkable and generous demonstration of humanity. After the funeral service, family and friends are invited to the Club de Golf Islemere, 1199 Chemin du
Bord de l'Eau, Laval, QC H7S 1A9 for light refreshments.

God bless the family, friends, and former teammates of Carol Vadnais. My father was a lifelong New York Rangers fan who introduced me to the sport as a child in the 1970's. I remember Carol Vadnais from those years and cherish those special times with my own father. May he rest in peace.

My first recollection of Mr. Vadnais was him as a teenage member of the Montreal Jr. Canadiens, a tremendous memory from my youth. Even in such an emotionally competitive sport, he entertained with his superb talent and conducted himself with class at all times. He will be sadly missed. God bless you, Sir. May you rest in peace.

Sad day for me to hear of your passing. I've known you for over forty years since your days with the Seals and on through Boston, my home town, and New York. Always a class act and a good guy. I remember when Carol played for Boston when I was growing up. He was metioned in Phil Esposito's book Thunder and lightning regarding the time Carol wore a pilot's cap on a plane one time the team was travelling on during the playoffs the year they won the cup
