Dear Pete, Billie and Kellie,
It's taken me so long to write here because I still don't know how to convey how I feel about Carol's death. I still can't believe she is really gone. Carol showed conviction, dedication and devotion to her children and autism research like no other. She was always looking for a way to better her girls' lives and I believe in continuing that responsibility. I will always remember Carol with a smile and a wink, for with all the serious issues in her life she still knew how to have fun. Miss you, Carol!

I was blessed to tell my mom in her final moments on this earth that I love her and so do Kyle, Ben and Will. I was also blessed to receive an overwhelming number of condolences referring to my mom as beautiful, inspirational and radiant. My thanks to everyone who reflected her radiance back to her. She loved and received tremendous energy from sharing, helping and visiting with other people. As some of my friends with “girl problems” can attest.
As for me, my thoughts continue to hold on to the unconditional love my mom always gave me through a life of highs and lows. My most precious times with her were sharing this love for my three sons. Thank you, mom.
It would be impossible to mention my mom without highlighting her devotion to my autistic sisters, Billie and Kellie. She shed a tear at every “big event” (prom, graduation, wedding, birth) because she would never be able to share those experiences with them.
Behind her smile was a very real person who experienced all the joys and worries that life offers. She lived a spirited lifetime and now I believe she laughs along the side of her dear friend, her mom, grandma Tillie.
Remember her spirit, be happy and be at peace.
Her loving son, Pete

It was so sad to hear of Carol's death. She and I have worked together and laughed together for the past 15 years. She was one of the most encouraging people I have ever known and no-one laughed at themselves more than Carol did. She will be greatly missed.

Carol's Poem: I submitted my poem, on the tulips stationary, recently, and it shows up too small to read. I tried to resubmit it in larger form, to no avail. My guest book entry about Carol is in another spot in this Guest Book. I'm still trying to upload the poem, but, in the meantime, I will type it here without the stationary, in hopes that all of you will find some solace in the words ahead. Kel
CAROL YEAGER...ALWAYS...
ALWAYS A SMILE,
THIS BEAUTIFUL BELLE
ALWAYS SO POSITIVE,
WISHING YOU WELL
CAROL HAD BEAUTY,
GENUINE, KIND
SAW ONLY THE GOOD IN US,
YOU WOULD FIND
ALWAYS SO UPBEAT AND
GIVING A HAND
ALWAY ON HER FEET,
CAROL DID LAND
SHE NEVER WOULD TALK
OF PAIN IN HER LIFE
LET ON HER SAD TIMES
OR ANY STRIFE
ALWAYS WAS CAROL
MORE CONCERNED ABOUT YOU
WHATEVER YOU NEEDED;
TO HELP SHE COULD DO
THIS WOMAN OF BEAUTY,
INSIDE AND OUT
A FRIEND FOR ALL TIMES
WAS WHAT SHE WAS ABOUT
YOU HAD TO BUT LIKE HER,
KINDEST WE'VE KNOWN
SO MUCH WE WILL MISS HER,
YET SEEDS SHE HAS SOWN
SEEDS THAT HAVE GROWN,
TOUCHED US SO KIND
SPRUNG BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS
THAT SHE LEAVES BEHIND
A RAY OF SUNSHINE
AND ALL THAT IS GOOD
FLOWERS THAT THRIVE,
HER WISH THAT WE WOULD
NEVER WILL WE,
BE THE SAME AS WE WERE
HAVING GENTLY BEEN TOUCHED
BY CAROL'S ALLURE
OUR HEARTS HAVE BEEN CHANGED,
WE TRULY WILL FIND,
BY CAROL, WHO'S NEAR,
FOREVER IN TIME
ALWAYS WILL SHE
BE OUR GUARDIAN, NEAR
WITH CAROL AT OUR SIDE,
WE WILL HAVE NO FEAR
ENDURING OUR SORROWS,
AS HER SMILE SHINES THROUGH
CONTINUING ON,
LIKE SHE WOULD DO.....ALWAYS......
Carol Yeager....Always....

To Carol's family and friends:
I'm so sorry for your loss. Carol was a wonderful and sunshiny person! I got to know her through Real Estate assistance and Market America. Carol was a very busy person, but always made time for people. She never complained about hardships. Carol was always so upbeat and happy. She was very dear to me, and I will miss her very much. For her family, including her daughters, her best friend, Carol, and to sweet Becky, I know this will be hardest for you, and I wish you many happy memories to help you through your sorrow. There aren't too many people who come along that are so full of zest and life as she was; so caring and kind. She will be sadly missed by all.
I wrote a poem about Carol, and I would like to share it with all of you:

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Carol over the past 15 years in working with her daughters, Billie and Kellie. We have laughed, cried, and laughed some more!!! I cannot think of another person who was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She was a very loving and caring mother who always had her daughters best interest in the forefront of her heart. We will miss her smile, her stories, and her positive energy. We will keep her in our hearts!

Dear Jim and family, My deepest condolences to you and your family. I was very saddened by your loss. Jim ,I met you and Carol approximately 30 years ago from the old neighboorhood that I grew up in right up the street. In the summer months, we all enjoyed ourselves at the neighboorhood block parties as we shared picnics and playing volleyball. I would see Carol on and off through the years and was always graced by her smile and pleasantness. She will also be remembered in my heart. May she rest in peace and the memories of her be with you always.

Dear Jim and Family, We were able to have the priviledge to be with Carol only a few times in our lives. She was always so warm and welcoming. I remember the first time we met at the airport. She came to pick me up. Never having met me, she greeted me with such a lovely smile. I remember it vividly. She also suggested some make-up to brighten my face...Indian Earth! I used it for years! We'll remember the good times. Peace to you, cousin Jim, as we know you will miss her. With much love, your cousin Marie and husband Jim.

Carol and I shared the same office together for 6 years. Together we laughed, cried and comforted each other through difficult times. Her ray of sunshine gave me hope and inspiration to achieve dreams that I thought were impossible...she was my 'sounding board' giving me advise and encouraging me to never give up. A life is so Bright. Rather than mourn the absence of the flame....Let us celebrate how brightly it glowed.

Carol, one day we will meet again. Right now you are no doubt seeing your Mom and Dad and others gone before you. In the meantime, I will feel your happy spirit and see your beautiful self. You've always been a beauty to me with your infectious smile and your zest for life. I regret not seeing and visiting with you more often. I will certainly visit with your sister Betty. To the rest of you, let's be more in touch. Life is too short! All of us can regale in special memories of our family visits. I will never forget Carol. She was, truly, a shining star! She sold me my first home in Duluth eight years ago and I have never forgotten her kindness, warmth, friendship, and fun-loving spirit when we first met. She was someone you felt you had known forever. She had a way about her that made you feel like you were her best friend. She sent me a Christmas card this past year and I was amazed that she still remembered me. She was beautiful, bright, and someone I looked to with great respect. I was sickened to hear of her death. She was, truly, one of a kind! Though we did not see each other often, she was someone I will never forget. She had a special way about her and she will live on in my heart, forever.

I feel priviledged to have been a co-worker of Carol's. Every day when I came into the office, the first thing I did was look around the corner and see if Carol was in. Thank you so much Carol, I will miss your smiling face and your kind heart.

Jim and Family,
I still have to stop and take a deep breath when the realization that I don't get to see Carol's smiling face each morning I walk in the office hits me like a punch to the gut. I officed with Carol the first year and a half I was with Re/Max. She never once made me or anyone else feel like they didn't belong. She truly did make your day better when she was around. I was with Carol on the day she died a few different times in and out of meetings, on home tours, and just as she was leaving on her last appointment for the day. I happened to be walking in. I said have a good afternoon Carol. As usual she was smiling flustered, papers falling on the floor because she was carrying to much to her car, she quickly reminded me to help her later with her new piece of electronic equipment she had just bought and didn't know how to use...A typical encounter with Carol. The kind that you have with a lot of the people you work with and care about all day long. The kind of encounter with Carol or anyone that you don't think twice about. Unfortunatley I've thought about those encounter with Carol hundreds of times over the past couple of days. I'll miss those encounters.

To Jim, and Betty,
I can't express adequately the saddness I feel for the loss of my cousin Carol. I always visualize her in my mind's eye as a positive, cheerful, positive and beautiful person. Her mother and my mother were sisters, and over the early years growing up, I always looked forward to visiting Aunt Tillie, Uncle Roy and my two beautiful cousins - Betty and Carol. Life is full of many unexpected and unplanned for events. Carol's premature departure from this life's trials is one of them. It is a wonderful and conforting thought that our religous belief and faith assures us we will be meeting again, but on a more permanent basis. Kindest regards and sincere condolences from Cousin Don in Alpine, Utah.
