Carole Lorraine Allen, 72, of Catlett died April 11, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Washington DC on December 6, 1938 daughter of the late Ralph and Eleanor Wells. She moved to Prince William County in the early 1950’s and graduated from Osbourn High School in 1957. Carole worked for Fairfax Co. after graduating; although she left that job to raise her family she drove a Fauquier Co. school bus for several years. After her children were grown she worked for the Federal Government and retired from the C.I.A. in 2007. Carole had numerous hobbies; furniture upholstery, ceramics, she was Den Mother for the Cub Scout Pack 1177, but most of all she loved to do things with her grandchildren. Carole leaves behind her husband and best friend of 49 years Jake Allen , four children; Tim and Kim Allen of Sumerduck, VA, Lee and Shannon Allen of Stafford Co., VA, Chris and Angelica Allen of Naples, FL, and Evie and Crat Mills of Gainesville, VA, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Wednesday, April 13 at Moser Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 14 at the Nokesville United Methodist Church in Nokesville, VA and will be laid to rest in the Stonewall Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carole’s name to the Hospice of the Rapidan P.O. Box 1715 Culpeper, VA 22701.
