I recently pulled two of Caroles books off the shelf. In my devotional time, Im reading When God Whispers and then one chapter of Help Lord, Im Sinking. The Lord has used both of them during this corona virus time in our lives. I am so grateful for her ministry to women over the years. I literally wore out my first copy of Lord of My Rocking boat while ministering as a Pastors wife and raising three children. I know Carole experienced and is experiencing what she wrote about in chapter seven of Help Lord Im sinking, Christ will speak those words to us: Let us go over to the other side. We May be sure He will accompany us on that breathtaking journey.

I am going through a particularly difficult season right now, and I woke one morning to find my eyes drawn to, "When God Whispers," by Carole Mayhall. My mom had given me a bunch of books and I just put them on the shelf where they sat for awhile.
Isn't it just like God to know exactly what we need? I soaked up the the words of this dear lady who I never had the pleasure of meeting, but I'm sure she was as sweet as her words. They've blessed and soothed my aching heart, and I wanted to let her know. Well, I now know she is with Jesus--where we all long to be--and so this will have to be for her family. Carole's legacy in stories and God's word are still reaching people. :)

I've also been deeply blessed by Carole's books and stories and was sad to find this obituary. But so happy for her that she is dancing, leaping and praising God, in His presence. Late condolences to the family.

I shouldn't be surprised but an all time favorite author, Carol, passed away and I never got to thank her for how she and her books helped shape me as a young wife and mother. I took a liking to Carol and just feasted on how God inspired her to write what she did! To her daughter Lynn and family, I count it a blessing that your mom and grandma came into my life! I grew up in MI myself and live in Bath, ME now. You must miss her so much! Hugs!

I accidentally stumbled across a timely book this morning by Carole Mayhall - Words That Hurt Words That Heal. I read this book years ago; but because of my Wonderful Father's dealings, it seemed The Lord wanted me to reread it. Out of curiosity I wondered where the author might be and found the beautiful obituary. Wish I could have met Carole but books are an incredible way to get to Connect with the writer and I'm assured that to know Him through the power of the cross and the resurrection death is only a stepping into the other side. She's a part of that great cloud of witnesses thats cheering us on.
Thank you Carole for the faithfulness that leaves behind something of substance for those of us that remain.

I worked often with Carole in my role as an editor for Today's Christian Woman magazine, for she wrote many wonderful and wise marriage-oriented articles for us. As a young wife and mom, I deeply respected Carole's warmth, wisdom, and love for the Lord. What a wonderful role model she was, and we developed a friendship. I am sorry to learn of her passing but know she is rejoicing being with Jesus.

I had written this to Carole on facebook messenger over the weekend...

Hi Carole,
Somehow your book Lord of My Rocking Boat was mixed in with my mail a few months ago while I was visiting my family in Buffalo. It belongs to my parents. I am in Brooklyn now beginning to read the first few pages. It's been quite a rocky summer ... ok maybe decade ... alright maybe life.... it's already bringing tears I can't quite put an emotion or name on. I wanted to reach out and say hello and mention I am beginning to read it ... my parents are both Christian and i felt a huge shift at 23 (32 now). This summer has been a new one for me concerning faith etc. Mark 4 seems like a good place to start.
Anyway - thank you

I want to go back again and read slower but I couldn't put it down since it was resonating so much! Just finished ! Haha plus I had time since I was sick all weekend. It was probably from my dad's Christian bookstore when he and my mom were first married !:)

I thought about it more, looked at the year of your latest public post on Facebook, looked you up realizing you're home now. Love to your family and loved ones. What an impact you've made. Our Father must be proud of His daughter.

I have been blessed by Carole's books and had the privilege of corresponding with her while studying her book "Come Walk With Me." Many in our Ladies Bible Study became real students of the Word through the study. Carole's love for her Lord and Savior has been an example to me. She introduced me to the writings of Ruth Myer, her dear friend. I have been praying for Carole for years. I look forward to meeting her in Heaven.
I am sorry for your loss. I am glad to know she is with Jesus.
