Carole Stein Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 22, 2025.
Carole Ann Stein, 90, of East Fallowfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Paoli Hospital.

Born in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Harte Smith. Carole was the beloved wife of Robert W. Stein, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage and raising their family in Wayne, PA. for over 40 years.

A dedicated member of St. Isaac Jogues in Wayne, and more recently Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Coatesville, Carole's true passion was her family. She cherished her children and grandchildren, instilling in them strength, love, and a joyful approach to life. Her love for family was evident in everything she did.

When not spending time with her loved ones, Carole enjoyed relaxing by gardening, playing tennis, and most of all, sharing treasured moments with her husband at their Outer Banks home.

Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she was blessed to have many of them close by, often stopping in for a visit or a chat.

Carole Stein is survived by her husband Robert W. Stein (97), her six children: Claudia, Gail, Bobby, Pete, Jamie, and Katie, her 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Carole's warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines (ryerssfarm.org).

WITH ALL OUR PEACE
7/17/25
MOM'S
LOVE 7/10/25
A week ago, I had this thought that both Katie and Gail received Yellow Flowers from Mom, but We didn't have any Flowers for Mom to change them to a yellow flower. Right after that, a Yellow Sunflower Plant Emerged From The Soil And Tonight, I Got The Thought It was from Mom.
Then, I Saw This Phrase I Had Written Weeks Ago That Was Way Above In This File In A Tribute For Them...
"I Love You Both, Mom And Dad, Dear Hearts On This Earth And Angels Above! "

And Then I Saw This Picture Of Mom that I had recently copied off of a video, with her eating chocolate chip cookies we had brought
for her.
t was like the Flowers were a way to show Her Love and thanks.

Then,I Saw,
From Mom...

Then, Dad Made Me See The Message Had Written About Saying The Rosary With Him...And I Saw The Words... I Love You All! With All My Peace,, As A Message From Him.

Then, I Also Saw The Same Message From Mom....

Thank You, Mom & Dad For Your Precious Blessings Of Love You Continue To Shower Upon Us All Each Day!!! We Love You!!

Dear Stein Family,

Mark and I were so sad to hear of your parents passing. We cherish those times on Anthony Wayne together and remember them so well. Also great times in Ocean City. We tried to send flowers but it didn´t seem to work. Know our hearts are with you all.

Carole was always so sweet, so funny and a happy person. She loved painting watercolors and was very talented. She and Claudia were in my art class and it has always been a pleasure to be their teacher and friend.

Hi, this heartfelt message is to all the Stein children and their families. We were truly saddened to hear of Carole´s passing after the Memorial Day holiday. Then to hear that soon after Bob followed to be by her side. I know he needed to hang on to make sure he´d be there for Carole & his children for support. I grew up next door to the Stein family, Chrissy the youngest of three girls. Bob & Carole were our second parents. I think I lived more at their house than I did my own. I really do think I was their seventh child. My parents & the Steins were best friends. Boy did they know how to party & have so much fun in the neighborhood. There was a cocktail party at least every weekend, possibly a progressive dinner, or a bridge or poker night, gourmet club for the ladies, and golf outings & dinner at the Glen Hardy Golf Club. I even heard that the ladies had made up their own flower club so they could get a discount to buy flowers for their yards. While the parents entertained friends, all the neighborhood kids stayed out late after dark playing night tag, baseball, crochet, or making a night fort or swimming under the pool lights. There was always eyes on us . We loved our freedom but knew we were safe. That is the wonderful parents Bob & Carole were. We were so lucky to have them & to love them. It´s an end to an amazing era, a generation we will never experience again. They are being celebrated by friends & family in heaven. We send all of our love and deepest sympathy to the Stein families. Love from the Bird girls.

I just heard about Carole's passing this morning. I loved when Carole and Bob came in the office, they both were lovely people and made me smile. Carole was ALWAYS in a happy mood when I saw her and she was a great patient. I'm sorry for your loss. They were two of my favorites.

So sorry for your huge loss. Carole was a wonderful woman. I have fond memories of our encounters as neighbors. She would come out and play catch with my children and showed genuine interest in them.
Carole and Bob will be missed in our community of Brinton Station. We loved them for 23 years !!!

My sister Ali has the photos presently. But I have pictures that are stored in my heart and mind. I love all the beach pictures with the Stein´s always in white. I have memories of us all posed on their steps in the backyard, and then there´s the Thanksgiving memories and Easter memories as well. I remember my mom, Anita, sharing memories of how she and Aunt Carol used to go up into her room and close the door and they would fill all our Easter baskets. She really enjoyed the talks that they had while they were doing that. And of course they would have to snitch some of our candy as well. I remember that she had a killer pitching arm. I will always remember her voice .... there was a warmth and love that radiated out from it. Every time I heard her talk, I could envision her smile and the happy lines around her eyes. I remember being jealous about how well she finished off her dining room table and the high shine that she was able to achieve on that finish. Still don´t know how she managed to do it, it was awesome! She and Uncle Bob were the last pillars of the old regime. The world feels a little lonelier without her. She will definitely be missed

I am so deeply grateful that my childhood was filled with things like dood dirl´s, 1-2-4´s, endless games of tic tac toe, hangman, and Scrabble, eating ice cream cones out on the deck and dousing our strawberries with sugar, afternoons spent drawing horses, and the kind of love that only my Nanny could give. She had this magical way of making each of us feel like the most special person in the room. And if you ever thought you were her favorite - well, you were right. And so was the next person. And the next. Because that was her joke: she told everyone they were her favorite - and somehow, she made it feel completely true. That was her gift - her ability to make us feel deeply loved. She had the most beautiful soul - full of compassion, kindness, strength, wisdom, and most important, silliness. She lived a full, rich life, filled with laughter and with love. I´ll miss her smile. I´ll miss her stories. I´ll miss her sass and her humor. I´ll miss hearing "you´re my favorite" and pretending we didn´t know she said it to everyone else too. But most of all, I´ll miss the way she made me feel - endlessly loved. As my nanny would say "it´s ok to be sad, but then you have to pick yourself up off the ground because you're a Stein dammit". You were, and always will be, my favorite. I love you, Nanny.

Mom: Your voice guides me, in all that I do! It's the compass in my heart & strength of my soul!
I have always loved you more than you know but now as an adult, I truly respect and admire you!
I am so grateful that at the heart of all the values you installed in us children, doing the right thing was number one! Thank you for teaching us kindness, compassion, strength and determination.... all with that "go-getter spirit!"
With everything I am & In everything that I do, I hear your words of wisdom & cherish your love and the values you've instilled in us children! Your unconditional love, gentle patience, quiet strength & encouraging determination are gifts I am truly grateful for! You are my heart and will be deeply missed! Enjoy Heaven!

Carole welcome me with open eyes into the kitchen of the Stein house and I was the little sister being dragged behind Becky to hang out with Bob. Sitting in the kitchen on the bench, made me feel like Family. She was always so warm and welcoming. Carole had a special way about her.
