I met Carole years ago when she attended a family constellation group Catherine and I facilitated in Truckee, CA. She was such a sweet soul and I will miss her.

Dear family of Carole (and Mike ),
I shared memories below, and want you to know now that I placed photos of them on our Dia de los Muertos altar. They were both important in our lives. We miss them and share your grief that their lives were cut short.

Por esta señora terminé la preparatoria ya sabiendo lo que era un 'Desaparecido' - y jamás lo he olividado. Honramos su memoria denunciando la injusticia sea donde sea y construyendo un mundo mejor.
As a sign on her classroom wall said: "No me digas Whatever!"

"Caracas, Venezuela. Caracas, Venezuela. Lima, Perú. Lima, Perú. Montevideo, Uruguay. Montevideo, Uruguay." That recording of her rapping the Latin American capitals was almost too effective - still in my head decades later. Thank you Señorita Stroud.

I only met Carole a few times, but I remember her fondly. Beyond that, our family always spoke to fondly of her and the "Stroud cousins."

May she rest in peace!

Carole's mother, Katie, and my mother, Catharine Newton, were best friends and played ping pong together starting about 1985. Mother's 80th birthday was held in their in their home. Magic Mike entertained us in their living room and at my son's 21st birthday party. Later, during Mother's last year at age 94, Carole visited weekly comforting Mother with her loving and joyful spirit. Katie, Carole, Mike and also Willis meant a lot to our family in those years and I wish I'd stayed in closer tough since then. My warm memories will have to suffice. Love to all the family, Alice Newton, 1023 Del Norte Ave., Menlo Park, CA.

My cousin Carole was a warm sharing person who was always generous with her house, her time and her smile. I didn´t get to see her often but when I did I always enjoyed the time. She often crosses my mind and I think of her with warmth and a sense of loss. I will always remember visiting her in California and hearing stories of the various animals that found their way into her house through the cat door. That gives me a good laugh for the day. I will miss her.

Rafting on the Colorado River. We backpacked together in Yosemite NP. She had a great smile and laugh.
