Caroline Randle Tunkel

As a wonderful administrator who appreciated good teachers. And later as an assistant superintendent who got things done.

She was my closest friend and neighbor when our husbands were in the Air Force. She was enthusiastic about everything. Miss her.

I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to know Caroline as an educational leader, mentor, and friend. I learned so much from her on a professional and personal level. I cherish the day that I was able to spend with her in early December. We enjoyed shopping, having lunch at the marina, and touring homes decorated for the holidays. It was such a great day filled with happiness, laughter, and hope. She was so proud of her family and loved you all so much. Your family continues to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Caroline was my best friend when we shared the experiences of River Road Elementary as our first teaching positions, and spouses of Air Force officers on the nearby Base in Michigan. She was always so energetic and enthusiastic...a joy to have as a friend and associate. She will be missed by so many whose lives she touched. Fondly remembered and missed .....

During my tenure on the Board of Education Ms. Tunkel and I had a close association. She was also the principal at Lyman Hall when my children were students there. I always appreciated her wise counsel.

Praying that you are surrounded by God's comfort and strength during this time of bereavement. May our Heavenly Father comfort Mr. Tunkel and the family during this difficult time. I worked with Dr. Tunkel as an school principal at Jordye Bacon and Waldo Pafford Elementary School. I had a very long working relationship with her. She contributed a very valuable contribution to the Liberty County School System. Again, May our Heavenly Father be with the family.

I had the honor of knowing Mrs. Tunkel as one of our Beam Team Members at Ackerman Cancer Center. Mrs. Tunkel was a bright light of hope and positivity. She not only touched our patients, but our staff as well. Through her involvement in our support groups and her engagement with others, Mrs. Tunkel taught me lessons on how to love life and how to love others. I am so grateful to have known Mrs. Tunkel. Her impact will continue on in the way I see life around me.

The world was such a better place with Caroline in it! She made an immense impact on those of us in the field of education. I will forever cherish memories of her as an esteemed colleague, personal friend, and fearless leader. Offering prayers of support to her dear family.

I enjoyed seeing Caroline with fraternity brother and husband Bob at Pi Kappa Alpha Social Events, She was a true lady and wonderful wife to Bob.
