Carolyn Crockett

Carolyn Howard Crockett, 89, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, in Rockledge, Florida. Born on June 2, 1936, in Howe, Texas, she lived a life marked by dedication to education, community service, and family.

Carolyn pursued higher education at Austin College and later at Stetson University, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to learning and leadership. Her intelligence and compassion were evident throughout her many roles in both professional and volunteer capacities.

A proud member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Carolyn was deeply involved in advancing educational excellence. She also served faithfully as a deacon and elder at Merritt Island Presbyterian Church, where her presence was a source of strength and guidance to the congregation. Her devotion extended into the community through her work as a player agent for Merritt Island Little League and Youth Soccer-roles that reflected her belief in nurturing young people through teamwork and sportsmanship.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Leon Crockett; her grandparents Elizabeth and Don E. Howard; her parents Don E. Howard II and Ruth Howard; and her sister Lynn Howard.

She is survived by her brother Don E. Howard III; her children Elizabeth Crockett and Carl Crockett; Carl's wife Jessica; and two cherished grandsons, David and Devin.

Carolyn's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to service. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on August 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Merritt Island Presbyterian Church 600 S. Tropical Trail. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Merritt Island Presbyterian Church or Austin College in Sherman, TX.
