Carolyn Rachal Dupree was born on February 7, 1955 in Pineville, Louisiana to Henry Rachal Sr. and Dorothy Beaudion Rachal. She was raised in Derry, Louisiana and graduated from Cloutierville High School.
During her childhood, Carolyn attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she received her baptismal, First Communion and Confirmation.
On June 10, 1972, Carolyn married the love of her life of 50 years, Joseph Leo Dupree. To this union, two beautiful children were born; Joseph Leo Dupree Jr. (Shameka) and Candi Dupree Slate (Jeremiah). Carolyn leaves her legacy to five beautiful grandchildren; Chasity, Jordyn, Kiersten, Xavier and J'Laylah as well as two beautiful great-grandchildren; Paisley and Benjamin. Carolyn and Leo became devout parishioners at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. As a strong and firm believer in her faith, she served as a member of the Altar Rosary & Christian Mother's Society for nearly 24 years.
Carolyn displayed great work ethics as a dedicated homemaker and passionate seamstress, upon her retirement as a supervisor at Holloway Sportswear for 15 years in Many, Louisiana. Carolyn also enjoyed making homemade biscuits (taught by her mother), playing bingo with her sisters and cousins, traveling with family and dancing at gatherings. She was an easy going, trustworthy, charismatic, crafty and direct person.
Carolyn is survived by her Husband: Joseph Leo Dupree; Children: Joseph Leo Dupree Jr. and Candi Dupree-Slate; Grandchildren: Chasity, Jordyn, Kiersten, Xavier and J'Laylah, Great Grandchildren: Paisley and Benjamin; Mother: Dorothy Beaudion Rachal; Siblings Audrey Balthazar Dunn (Buddy), Donald Rachal Sr., Henry Rachal Jr. (Catherine), Connie Rachal Gallion and Kimberly Rachal Raymond; In-laws, Barbara Dupree Rachal, Rosa Dupree Thomas, Debra Dupree Hymes and Eleanor Oates Trahan (Ronald).
Carolyn is preceded in death by her father, Henry Rachal Sr.; ln laws: Joseph & Emma Leonia Dupree; sister in law: Lydia Sarpy Rachal; brother in laws: Robert Thomas, Daniel Dupree and John Louis Rachal Sr. and nephew: SerCedric Thomas.
She was blessed with many godchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Natchitoches with Rev. John O'Brien serving as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 8:00 am until 9:30 am at St. Anthony with recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 9:30 am. Burial at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Isle Brevelle will follow the mass.
