I write this as a former student of Mrs Gibson - in 4th grade at Lowell Elementary School in Wheaton IL in the mid 70s. I have always fondly remembered Mrs Gibson as one of the finest people I

I was fortunate enough to meet Carolyn when I started my involvement with the Illinois Education Association. She was always the gracious mentor who inspired me with her advocacy. I think I stayed involved with the Association both at the state and local level because I could see through Carolyn's work how much of a difference we could make. My sympathies to her family but know that she influenced so many people in so many ways.

Best Teacher I ever had in Grade school (3rd and 4th grades) in the early 1970's. My sister Caroline had her also. What an accomplished woman!!! I never knew she had such a history.

Dear Gibson Family
I always enjoyed stories about Mrs Gibson during my classes with Dr. Gibson at COD. Furthermore, it meant the world when to two of you came to see me receive an award there last year.
I am so sorry for your loss and clearly see how led a wonderful life by inspiring and shaping many minds for growth, tolerance, and enlightment. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you

Dear Gibson Family-
Your amazing mother/grandmother was my 4th grade teacher and my brother's 5th grade teacher at Lowell School in the 70's. Her life had a tremendous impact on our lives. She pushed us towards excellence - to be good citizens, to be our best and to respect others. I am inspired by all that she has accomplished.
May our heavenly Father bring you comfort and peace and I pray that you will continue the legacy she began.
Peace~

To the Gibson Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is broken at the loss of Mrs G. She was THE most influential teacher I ever had. Of course, when I was 10 years old and in her 4th grade class I thought she was the meanest person ever! But she was just what I needed.
I loved her so much and I will miss my phone calls and texts with her. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. She was a phenomenal woman.
