Carolyn Scott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 12, 2025.
Carolyn Patricia Scott (McCaffrey), age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 8, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia. Born on August 19, 1946, in New Jersey, Carolyn lived a life marked by humor, resilience, and a deep love for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.

Carolyn was the beloved daughter of Robert and Caroline McCaffrey and grew up surrounded by a large and lively family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Michael McCaffrey and Dennis McCaffrey; her sisters Barbara Couch and Colleen Kerr; and her daughter Donna Brumbaugh. Despite these losses, Carolyn remained a source of strength and laughter for those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister Joyce McMullen and brother Gary McCaffrey. Carolyn's legacy lives on through her children: Michelle Miehle; Edward Bonham and his wife Tabatha; Shantelle Yacono and her husband Mark Yacono II; and James Scott and his wife Alicia. Her grandchildren-Cody Lee, Aaron, Gabrielle, Cheyenne, Carmella, Craig, Daniel, Constance, David, Joel, Gaige, and Haven-along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews will carry forward the warmth of her memory.

Carolyn had a remarkable ability to find joy in everyday moments. She had a deep love for animals that was evident to all who knew her. Her garden was both a sanctuary and a source of pride-a place where she nurtured beauty with care and patience and could bring any dead plant back to life. Yard sales were more than just weekend outings; they were adventures filled with discovery and delight. With an infectious laugh and a mischievous sparkle in her eye, she often joked about "staying out of trouble," though she did so with a wink that suggested otherwise. Her sense of humor was matched only by her generous heart. Carolyn had an uncanny gift for making people feel at ease.

Carolyn Patricia Scott will be remembered not only for the laughter she brought into the world but also for the love she gave so freely. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.

She was a great woman- one whose kindness, sass, and laughter will echo in our hearts forever. Her memory will continue to bloom in every cherished moment, and every beautiful day.

Per her request there will be no formal service, her family invites you to remember her with a smile, a story, or a quiet moment of gratitude for the joy she brought into the world.

Forever in our hearts

I knew her when she worked at Deborah Hospital. Always had a smile and kind words for everyone. She did reach out on Facebook and later to play solitaire with friends. She was a wonderful person. Rest in peace

Carolyn was so much fun to work with. I enjoyed hearing about the pranks she pulled. The cross country trips to Texas. Her family stories. Her adventures at the yard sales. She would be excited about
her new fish tank finds. I really enjoyed the time we had together at SouthCoast. Prayers for your family at this difficult time

When I took a job at Southcoast Health, Carolyn was one of the first people to greet me and she instantly treated me as if I had been there for 10 years. She always had a smile and a kind word even if she was about to bop you in the head. She put patients at ease like few people could. I´m very blessed to have known her and I am sure that friends and coworkers feel the same way. I feel assured that she is bringing the same joy to heaven that she brought to others on earth.
