Carolyn J. Yoder

Carolyn J.Yoder Carolyn J.Yoder, 71, passed away on March 9, 2012 at Reston Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on November 17, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from Independence High School and received a degree in Education from Pittsburg State College in Kansas. She was an Elementary School Teacher for 10 years and then stayed home to have a family in Shawnee and in Lenexa, Kansas. She later moved to Virginia where in 1988, she became an owner/operator of Seven Oaks Academy for 24 years and touched many families lives. She is survived by her loving husband Richard J. Yoder for 26 years, and children Stacy Doyle (John), Kimberly Klimko (Robert), and stepchildren David Yoder (Gay) and Kenneth Yoder (Susan). Her eight grandchildren include Justin, Brandon, Dylan and Morgan Doyle, Aidan, Zachary, and Kade Klimko, and Kurt Yoder. She is also survived by her two brothers, Robert and Larry Fox and sister Jean Salmon. She also had 5 nieces and 3 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her First husband Darwin Holtgren and her parents Lillie and Loyd Fox and infant sister Sharon Lynn Fox. She lived for the greatest part of her life in Great Falls, Virginia. She was regarded by her friends and family as the stable homemaker, guidance counselor, loving wife and mother who was always there when needed during crises and in times of joy and happiness. Her love and affection for her family, friends and workmates was an inspiration for all who knew her. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to Myrtle Beach, Virginia Beach and Florida yearly.

A vistation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon Wednesday March 14, 2012. A Graveside funeral service will be conducted at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, Virginia on Thursday March 15, 2012.
