Carrie Wingate Obituary
Ms. Wingate died Sunday, March 26, at her residence after an illness. She was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Jonathan and Thomasenia Poole Wingate.
She was a graduate of Mayo High School Class of 1959, and was a member of Round O Baptist Church. She was employed at M.S.D. Inc. of Darlington.
Survivors include two children, Jacquelyn (Gerald) Sutton of Darlington and Brian Wingate (Relisha) of the home; four sisters, Elizabeth McCall and Verline Odom, both of Darlington, Virginia (Ernest) Joint and Mary Ann (Percy) Whitaker, both of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Brian Jr., Deondre, Jada and Jasmine; two godchildren, Lamont Joseph and Elouise Campbell, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; devoted friends, Bernice Baccus, Albertina Green and Rosena Green; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1345 Mt. Sinai Road, Darlington.
