Catherine was born on April 25, 1967 and served her community through her work at the Hawaii Department of Education as a Cafeteria Helper.
Known for her beautiful qualities ...... Catherine was a beacon of strength and love to everyone around her. Her life and legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her partner, Emanuel Verdugo; son, Elijah Akau; grandchildren Kady, Karmen and Kamren Akau; brothers, Kilisi, Lu'uga Jr, Manogi, Peni Vailu'u, and Jay Akau; and sister, Adaline Akau-Mika.
In her honor, a Viewing Service will be held on August 6, 2025, at the Dodo Mortuary, Inc. in Hilo from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Followed by cremation.
