Catherine Holahan Obituary
Born in Pittsburgh, PA., she was the daughter of the late Francis E. and Mary E. (McIlvain) Holahan.
She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1975.
A life-long horse lover, Catherine started taking riding lessons when she was 10 and became well known on the horse show circuit for braiding horse manes and tails.
In 1991, she and her sister Clare bought Ann K. Hubbard's Tack Shop in Lake Bluff, IL. Catherine took the shop on the road with the Tack Mobile, appearing at horse shows from Minnesota to Florida. Her dogs, Chan, Cricket, Olive and Bertie were always with her.
Survivors include her twin sister, Clare Holahan, Gurnee, brother Maurice (Joyce) Holahan, Lake City, MN, and sister Jane (Michael Swanson) Holahan, Lancaster PA, nieces Sarah Floren and Kathryn Karjalainen and nephews Patrick Holahan and Michael Holahan.
She also leaves behind her beloved dog Bertie.
Catherine will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends.
A celebration of Catherine's life will be held June 23 at the Shanty Restaurant, 38985 US-41, Wadsworth IL, from noon to 3 p.m.

My heart is broken with Catherine´s passing. We were fast friends from the moment we had the good fortune to meet. Her void will never be filled, but I will always remember her for her passion and fabulous wit. My condolences go out to her extended family and all her friends!
