With great sadness, the family of the late Catherine Jarotski, beloved wife of Ralph Jarotski of Canora, SK, announce her passing at the Regina General Hospital on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the age of 73 years.
Cathy was born on July 9, 1948, in Melville, SK, to John and Mary (Pudetz) Rogowski. She attended school and received her education in Melville.
On April 1, 1967, Cathy was united in marriage to Ralph Jarotski at St. Henry’s Roman Catholic Parish, Melville, SK. Shortly thereafter, in 1971, Cathy and Ralph settled in Canora, SK, to raise their family. They also spent many years operating their antique shop in Canora and attending antique shows across Western Canada.
She was a devoted wife and mother and spent countless hours supporting her children in the ways only a mother knows how to do. In her spare time, she could often be found in the kitchen, with the radio playing, baking, and cooking.
She also enjoyed travelling and many great memories were made on family vacations throughout Canada. With their children and grandchildren, Cathy and Ralph travelled to Florida, Europe, and Asia.
Always of very strong faith in God, Cathy dedicated her time and remained very involved with the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Parish and was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League.
Cathy will be remembered as generous, thoughtful, giving, and honest with endless amounts of patience. She will be dearly missed by her family, many friends, members of St. Joseph’s parish, and all those who knew and loved her.
Cathy was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Jarotski of Canora, SK; children: Angela (Curtis) Andrus of Nipawin, SK, Todd (Wendy) Jarotski of Saskatoon, SK, Jason Jarotski of Saskatoon, SK, and Chad (Kimmy) Jarotski of Kaohsiung, Taiwan; grandchildren: Simon, Joshua, Matthew, Kate, Sarah, Ryan, Elsie, Sebastian, and Roland; and her brothers, Alexander (Jean) Rogowski of Deep River, ON, and Bob Rogowski of Melville, SK; as well as her extended family and many friends.
A Vigil of Prayer was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2022, and the Funeral Mass celebrated (and live streamed) at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022, both from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Canora, SK, with Rev. Fr. Joseph Kuruvilla, as Celebrant. Rite of Committal followed in St. Michael’s R.C. Parish Cemetery, Lemberg, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Canora, SK, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Cathy Jarotski.

Dear Mr. Jarotski, Angela, Todd, Jason Chad and family:
I was truly shocked to receive this message from my girlfriend Christine Bates nee Robinson about Cathy's Funeral Announcement. I used to wear my hair in a pony tail just like Cathy. Jason used to call me Neeties, They were expecting Chad when I first met them. Mr. Jarotski taught Art and English in 1977. I remember a birthday party in their dining room with several kids in attendance. I wish you well in the days and years ahead. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Cathy was one of those special people that to know her was to love her. She was a loving, caring, take charge person. She didn’t just say it she did it. She was always ready to explore any new experience life had to offer and took on any new challenge. One of her most unique qualities was she was forgiving. It wasn’t just a “that’s okay“ she truly forgave and always felt people deserved another chance.
Cathy’s love of her family was infinite. She was always there to meet any of our needs and give support. She took on all life’s challenges with an unwavering faith for a
positive outcome. She was the most amazing little sister a brother was ever given arriving the following year. I remember when we got our little puppy and he was crying, Cathy got up and took him into her bed and he stopped immediately, that was My Sister always ready to help someone or something. Whenever Jean or I visited our parents and dealt with people in the community everyone knew Cathy and would have a story to share of a kindness she had done for them or someone they knew.
I know we were not prepared to lose her yet but in the past she was often the leader, I can now hear her saying “Celebrate my Life and all
the Love and Joy she experienced, especially with family”. Cathy I am sure believed God had a reason and her concern would be for us. She waited until all her children
got to say Good Bye. She knew they would always continue to be there for each other. God was calling her for a reason and she quietly passed through his door knowing her family would support those in need of help. We know she was always there for us in life and will continue watching over us until we meet again one by one.
Rest In Peace Sweet Sister. Thank You for all the Love you gave us.
We know you will always be with us as you will always be in our hearts.
Love Forever

To Cathys family,we are so sad to hear of Cathys passing. She was a great neighbor and we got to be better friends with her and Ralph through their antique shoppe. They could find what I would be looking for and I think enjoyed seeing what joy their find would bring. A great family lost an awesome lady but Heaven opened its doors for Cathy. God Bless
