Catherine M. Korns Meryo

90, of Dover, passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 25, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 22, 1927, in Holmes County, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Freida Troyer Maurer. Catherine was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Korns on August 28, 1968, her second husband, James Meryo on April 27, 1994; grandson, Ryan Patrick Ross; great- grandson, Joey Miller; son-in-law, Bob Ren and daughter-in-law, Wanda Meryo. Catherine retired as a Cook from Dover High School after 20 years of service. She loved playing cards, and was active with several card clubs. Catherine also enjoyed gardening, crafts and canning. She was a Proverbs 31 woman, who was teaching 'till her last breath.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Catherine will be missed by her children: Ginny (Ed) Paris of Dover, Barbara Korns of North Carolina, Connie (Frank) Miller of Xenia, Becky (Jim) Johnson of Massillon, Marcia (Jim) Loveday of Dundee, Judy Ren of Dover, Patti (Lincoln) Rutter of Washington, Dale Korns of West Lafayette, David (Denise) Korns of Plain City, Jimmy Meryo of Dover; brother, Eugene Maurer of Dundee; 15 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, with one expected in the Fall.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6th., at 11:00 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. LuAnn Youngman officiating. Interment will be in the Bunker Hill Cemetery at Winfield.
