Catherine B. Whiteman

Catherine B. Whiteman, 92 of Kemah, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born March 28, 1926 in Independence, Kansas to William and Petra (Delgado) Barbosa.

She was a housewife and mother who enjoyed music, dancing, sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Legion of Mary at St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church, women's outreach organization & marriage counseling; her favorite hobbies were making cabbage patch dolls, quilting, crocheting, camping, fishing and gardening.

She is survived by her sisters; Carmen Garcia, Dolores Barbosa, Lorenza Medina, Alice Hilt and Estela Ben-Ali; children, William Floyd Whiteman and wife, Gloria; Charles Raymond Whiteman, Jr; Linda Marie Spain and husband, Brian; Susan Elaine Thomas; Richard Edward Whiteman; grandchildren, Jason Whiteman, Melissa Whiteman, Allison Moss, Adam Constable, Joseph Whiteman, Mark Whiteman, Charles Whiteman, III, Ryan Spain, Taylor Spain, Tiffany Spain, Michael Thomas, Steven Thomas, Whitney Everett, Ashley Whiteman and Courtney Whiteman; special loving nephew, Rogelio Rangel along with 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous other extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Raymond Whiteman; sister, Mary Rodriguez, Theresa Rocha and brother, Louis Barbosa.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Thomas, Michael Thomas, Ryan Spain, Taylor Spain, Joseph Whiteman, Charles Whiteman, III and Rogelio Rangel.
