As I read this beautiful tribute I sensed Cathy walking with me.
But..... she said there is another piece to this puzzle—- The Bookclub.
For 30 years the bookclub met at Cathy’s. First in Brooklyn Heights and then in Manhattan. We tried meeting in restaurants or at one of our apartments. No go. Only at Cathy’s. There were 4 of us. We decided early on that the book was irrelevant .....we were there to talk..... to drink a lot of wine and eat Thai take out. We shared our lives..... the good & the bad for 3 decades. The last meeting was right before Cathy went to Cashton. I have to thank David. He visited me in London & said he had met the most wonderful woman.....she had moved with him
to NYC..... and she had a bookclub....and he thought I would right in. In 1989 I moved back to NYC and have been a member of the bookclub ever since. It is a special part of my life.....and of the others.
It is now shuttered!
