The Toole Shed is so very sad to hear of the passing of our dear friend Mrs. Salm! Mass will not be the same at ST. Theresa's with out her hugs and warm smile but we will find comfort in knowing she is there in a different way now! She was an amazing woman of great faith and love. No doubt Christ is welcoming her home to the room he prepared just for her! All her beautiful good bits live on in each of you and those she touched in her well lived life. We will continue to keep her and your family in our prayers!

Cathy brought light no matter where or when. A beautiful presence Now you sit around the table of the Lord. Inspired by the spirit.

The Salm Family,
My 1st impression of Aunt Cathy at Grandma Wiley's 80th birthday was her ability to make everyone welcome, the gift of conversation, and a gracious laugh. Years later, I worked in Hinton and Jasper, AB, and visited her on weekends. She was just as welcoming, curious, gracious, and full of laughter. When my daughter met her grand Aunt Cathy for the 1st time, it was afterwards as she had I drove home, she told me, "now I know who I got my sense of humour from." There was a an instant connection between my daughter and your mom, which mirrored what I had felt years before. She was very special to me and my family.

To all those who loved Cathy, I am thinking of you as you mourn the loss of such a kind and vibrant soul. My first memory of Cathy was when I was four years old when she invited me into her cabin and encouraged me to jump on her small trampoline. Every time I will think of Cathy and Moe, it will remind me of what makes life beautiful.

Cathy was my only female cousin who always drank beer and always out of the green bottle. When she and Moe visited Australia we took them down to the farm to see the Australian bush, the cattle and the orchard. As beer in Australia does not come in green bottles, she settled for Glenfiddich midst the towering gum trees down at the little old wooden hut near the creek, though not out of the green bottle. Her sparkling spirit and joie de vivre were shared with all and shall be missed by all.

As youngsters, we Spratt brats attended Cathy and Moe's wedding those many years ago, a first for us. It was the highlight of our summer, eventually followed by the many birth announcements that would arrive by mail with great regularity. Cathy was always so warm and bubbly, her phone calls greatly anticipated in our household. I'll miss this special "Kitchener Wiley" and always smile when I think of her.

I'm so saddened to learn of Cathy's passing. She was such a bright light, and has left nothing but the happiest of memories of what was known at #5 The Kingsway as "a visit to the Kitchener Wileys". We, of the Spratt branch, knew that only the very best of food (Aunt Winnie always was prepared to feed a small army!!, laughter' and barrels fun was about to happen!!!! Cathy, with her love of life, unbridled enthusiasm, and wonderful smile will be sadly missed; however the memories will go on forever in great stories and our hearts will smile whenever we think of her.
With Love,
Nancy (Spratt) Barnes .

I have felt a part of the Salm family as I grew up. Harry was a friend since 1960 or some such. We are always in school together and had great times with him and his younger brothers and sisters. Mrs. Salm was always there with a big smile and encouragement (and often cookies) as we played together.
As we turned from kids into adults she was there giving us all a boost and maybe drinking the odd green beer at the inevitable St. Paddy's day party always at the Salm's place. Her and her husband Moe were great parents and wonderful people.
I feel badly now as my old friend Harry and his younger brothers and sisters who were part of our cohort are now orphans. Bummer.
My prayers will go to Cathy and to her great family, friends all. Sorry for your loss you Salm's. She is in a better place.
