Cathy S. Braham

A memorial service will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel at 3 PM, Saturday October 18th to celebrate the life of Cathy S. Braham, 65, of Cortland who lost her long, courageous fight with cancer on Thursday October 9th at Hospice House with her family by her side. Cathy was born September 1, 1949 in Youngstown the daughter of the late George S. and Donna (Neuman) Scott. She was a 1971 graduate Youngstown State University with an education degree in Science and taught for the Youngstown City Schools at both East and Chaney High Schools for 36 years and retired in 2007. Cathy was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority at YSU, she served as Council Woman for Lake Milton Township during the 1980's and 1990's. Cathy had a special talented gift for her love of animals. She was active in Youngstown All Breed Training Club. As her friend Linda, would say, "Cathy never met a dog she didn't love." She leaves behind her precious dogs Emme and JoJo. Besides animals she enjoyed collecting owl figurines, camping knitting, crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and gardening. The last 2 years she and her husband with friends traveled throughout the south and west in their camper. Cathy leaves her devoted husband William Braham Jr., three children William (Joely) Braham of Newton Falls, Randy (Linda) Braham of Niles, and Joseph Braham of Newton Falls, three grandchildren, Bailey and Brianna Braham and Riley Fincham, three siblings, Carol (Paul) Foster of Canfield, George (Rhonda) Scott of Berlin Center, and Robert (Lori) Scott of Austintown, as well as many loving nieces and nephews, and in-laws. Friends may call from 1 to 3 PM at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel on Saturday were service will be held at 3 PM. The family would like to thank Cathy's many friends and past students for their prayers and blessings. Also a special thank you for the heartfelt care provided by the staff of Hospice House in Cathy's final days. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hospice House in Cathy's name.
