We met at a Master Naturalist meeting. I was impressed with her enthusiasm and knowledge.

Relay for Life team - Our family lost my mom/Gramma this past year to cancer. Dan's father passed away from cancer in 2012. I am here to do what I can to raise funds to help to put a stop to cancer. One of the reasons I got involved is that the donations I collect will help support breakthrough cancer research. The American Cancer Society is the primary private nonprofit funder of cancer research, investing more than $5 billion over 75 years.

I will be sharing a book of memories about Cathy and joining everyone in remembering with great fondness all that she offered this world. I am great indebted to her for all her support, creativity and love she shared with us all in our Watershed over the years. I will be sharing a Memory Book about her at her memorial on March 2. When we first moved to Parkway drive Cathy was at our door promoting Southlawn. She will be missed.

I knew Cathy through her work at the watershed district. Her passion for the environment, positive energy, and genuine smile will be greatly missed.

Cathy and I were roommates at Master Naturalist conferences. Once we camped at all the state parks in NW Minnesota. I am a tad younger but I could not keep up with here. Cathy wanted to complete another hiking trail. I said I would be lying here on this picnic table when she got back. She got 100 more wood ticks than I did because she would lie in the grass to get a good photo of a flower or a bug. She was an amazing woman and an inspiration to many.

Earlier this year Cindy Antosh and I took Cathy Jo to see a performance of "The Root Beer Lady" at the history theater downtown. It was a one-woman show of Dorothy Molter, who lived her life out alone in the Boundary Waters region. I could totally see Cathy Jo doing something like that and apparently, so could she. When the show ended we walked out with Cathy Jo saying "how could anyone think she lived a lonely life with so many skiiers, hunters and hikers passing through her camp?

Matt, Aleisha and family, so sorry for your loss. It is always hard to loose a parent and particularly this time of year. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Cathy was always so fun to be around. She cake to my house with Susie and Debbie one Halliween that I remember. She made great snacks to try. I think she is the one that came up with a great non-alcoholic punch. Lots of kids around.
