Cathy Lumpkin Mantua

I am so saddened to hear this news today. Cathy was the prettiest and sweetest Kappa Kappy Gamma and we had some great times together at the UMD. May she rest in peace.

Perhaps a little known fact is that as a high school sophomore, Cathy was a top five runner on the FIRST girls' cross-country team at Springbrook High School to compete as a separate entity. She finished 9th in the County Meet and was the second finisher for the team, helping qualify for the Maryland State AA Championships, finishing as a top five scorer for the team. Knee injuries limited her cross-country career to that one season, but it is just another of her amazing accomplishments. She never sought attention, but her genuine smile and kind way of treating everyone definitely attracted attention. All of her classmates and friends from Springbrook High School mourn her loss.

We are so sad to hear of Cathy´s passing. She was always such a sweet person. She and her family will be in our prayers.

Cathy is a beautiful person in love with our Savior Jesus Christ and her wonderful family. She has the honor of celebrating the Resurrection in heaven with her Lord and her parents who have past away.

So sorry for your loss. Now she rests in the arms of our loving Savior and is at peace.

Cathy and I first met in JHS. One of the kindest, nicest people I've had the honor of knowing in my life.

Beautiful Cathy was loved by so many, and her faith was an inspiration to all. My sweet friend since high school...you will be forever missed. Our love and prayers for Mike and her entire family, whom she cherished.
