Cathy Tash Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 17, 2008.
p>Cathy Lynn Tash of West Deptford, passed away suddenly with her family by her side on Feb. 16, 2008. Aged 50 years.

A loyal and caring woman, Cathy was the consummate caregiver of her family as well as local children.

Born in Woodbury, Cathy was a graduate of Woodbury High and received her A.A.S. in Child Studies from Gloucester County College. For years, nurturing those she loved and providing daycare for children in her home has been her passion. Spending lazy days on the beach in Ocean City was a perfect way for Cathy to relax. Inside her curio at home, you¹d find much of her collection of angels, clowns and Precious Moments figurines. Reading a good book, watching Oprah, listening to sounds of classic rock, taking part in a good laugh and spending time with her family were a few things that brought her joy.

She is the beloved wife of 28 years to Steven J.; devoted mother of Lisa Marie and Steven Thomas (L-Cpl., USMC); loving daughter of Marjorie (nee Ales) and the late David Phillips; dear sister of David Phillips; loving daughter-in-law of Norma and George Tash.

Viewing Wednesday 6:30 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury. Funeral services and Lifetime Tribute Thursday 10 a.m. in the funeral home. A procession to Harleigh Cemetery, Chapel Mausoleum, Camden will follow.

Dear Tash and Phillips families,

I grew up three houses from Cathy in Woodbury. I knew her parents and brother, Dave, quite well. I was saddened by the news of her passing. Please draw strength from the knowledge that she is now truly home with the Lord.

God bless,

Barbara Haulenbeek

I worked with Cathy many years ago at Lenape State Bank, and thought of her often. I am sorry for your loss and please know that it is with deepest sympathy that I am sending this.

Dear Tash Family,

I pray that our Lord gives you all much comfort and peace. I have always and only heard positive words when it came to Cathy. She was a wonderful aunt to Georgie and John and a great sister in law and friend. I know that she was proud to be a Tash and cared much for her mother and father in law and family. Her devotion to her children and husband was noticed by many. Our prayers from Cleveland are with you all. Let our Lord carry you through this difficult time.We have been blessed by her presence.

Our precious sister, Cathy.... we will miss you more than words can say. You have added such love and joy to our lives and helped to make our family dinners, parties and special events such fun. We are so sad that you had to leave us so soon..., there is now a huge void in all of our lives. We will cherish all of our memories and we look forward to seeing you again in Heaven. We love you.....
