January 20, 1916 - April 3, 2016
Cecil John Chin beloved husband of Gwen Chin, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the age of 100. Cecil was born in Guyana in 1916 where he spent many happy years before moving to Canada in 1971. He was a lesson to all of us on how to accept with peace, grace and kindness the path set before him. He will be lovingly remembered by everyone whose life he touched with his kindness and generosity. His greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Gwen, his three children: Desrie Chin, Loreen Stjohn (Steven), Claude Chin (Sandra), his grandchildren: Leah Pippard (Dan), Joel Stjohn, Tiffany Chin, and Jake Chin and his first great-granddaughter Everly Pippard. He was predeceased by his two loving grandchildren Samantha Trow and Daniel Chin. Cecil will be forever loved and remembered by all his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to come and say their goodbyes at Mountain View Funeral Home (1605-100 Street S.E, Calgary) on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Visitation followed by a Graveside Service.
