Cecil I miss you very much, mostly I'll miss the BIG BEAR HUGS! I've loved all the great times we've shared over all the years and all the wild adventures. Watch over all of us. To Scott, Laura, Zach and Ava, I will keep you all in my prayers. We'll all get to see him again.

Debbie and family,
It was a pleasure to have spent the weekend on Cecil's boat one weekend. It was so much fun and he was such a great host. I know what a generous guy he was and how he loved you all. He will truly be missed and is indeed a new star in the heavens. I am sorry for your loss.

Cecil,
You were a man of great distinction who loved his family dearly and held on to those ideals that keep families close. What a fantastic uncle you were. I always felt like I could call you for advice because whatever I was going through you'd probably seen it or lived it in some way already. Thank you for always being there form my mother. In remembrance to you, I'll always try to be kind to my fellow man, and to show strength when those in our family need it most.
My deepest sympathies go out to your son, my cousin Scott and his wife Laura and their children. May God watch over them as he does you during these difficult times in their lives.
In loving memory,
Your nephew, Lance Tyson

Uncle Cecil -
You brought Joy to not only your life, but others and that alone makes your life meaningfuly. Your laugh brought smiles to faces of everyone, your concern for others was from the heart, and you taught others to slow down based on your life. I will/have learned from you and promise to keep my family close with your son's. Give Jonnie a hug for me and Lance and make him laugh a lot in heaven. We'll do our best to do it "our way" down here..

I love you Cecil! I miss you so terribly! Life without you here will be empty for me. You always made me MAD, HAPPY, SAD, EXCITED, LOVED just like a baby brother should. When you walked in a room it lit up and laughs always happened. I'm so proud of the family you have left for all of us to share. Scott, Laura, Zach and Ava, what a beautiful legacy you left behind. I will toast you everytime I'm at Dixie's, I will eat a banana cream pie for you everytime I'm at the Corner Cafe and I will talk to you everynight before I sleep. Until we meet again...I love you so very much!!!

Scott and family, though we have never met I can tell you that I have many fond memories of your Dad. Our family always got together on July 4th for a big family reunion. Little Cecil, as we called him, and the rest of us always had a good time at these family events. I hadn't seen him in years but have fond memories that I won't forget. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

To Cecil's Family,
When Cecil came to Des Moines he began working in an office where we shared space and he was near where I sat. Even though I hardly knew him, hearing him talk on the phone each day let me know what kind of person he was. He was a truly unique character. The kind of person that is so rare today. He spoke to his family often, his son, his sister, especially his mother. Almost daily I would hear him end the call with to her with "I love ya, Momma." To his son "give my grandbabies a hug". It warmed my heart. He will be missed greatly.
My condolences,
Mike Belcher

Scott,
Want you to know we are thinking of you.
I can still hear Big Cecil yelling your name at 7th and 8th grade basketball games. He was the "fun dad". Something you inherited and I am sure will pass along to your kids.
Stay strong,
Love ya Bro

I first met Cecil almost 30 years ago when he was a manufacturers representative. Since then I have had the pleasure of knowing him as a co -worker and a vendor. I'll never forget his sense of humor and his big laugh. Cecil will be missed by all that came in contact with him. Scott, your Dad is still in the telecom business, just on a higher level. God Bless!

Hi Cuz,
You were more like a brother to me rather than a cousin. We had some good times growing up together. I remember you teaching me to throw a ball right handed so I wouldn't be (as you put it) a "sissy" like you.
I'll miss you greatly.
