I just found out about Cecil's death, over a year ago, and wanted to add to the memories & condolences.
I met Cecil when transitting flights at Bombay Airport in 1974 when he was working with Air France. He very kindly helped my mate and I to a "cool" drink due to the heat in the airport. He gave me his business card and asked me to phone his sister (?) in Sydney when we returned.
Fast forward to 1980 and I began working for Ansett International Travel in Sydney and I was recruiting for a Sales Executive to join us in the Liverpool Street Office. Who should apply, but Cec Wagstaff from Ansett's ticketing office in Parramatta ! We didn't recognise each other from Bombay, however a few years later I discovered Cecil's Air France business card when tidying-up at home, and we realised that we had met before ! Cec and I became good mates at Ansett, and after he moved to Canberra and I moved to Melbourne, we still had some contact. I'm sorry I didn't know of his death until now. Cec was a remarkably kind, funny and wise soul ..... and my life is richer for having known him.
My thoughts and love go to Perveen, Michelle and Craig, and of course to Cec for a lived well-lived ! Rest In Peace, mate !
