CELIA BUGG HILL. 61, of Alachua, FL., passed away August 12, 2017, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born in Lithia, FL., to the late Edward and Beulah Bugg, Celia graduated from Mulberry High School, earned her undergraduate degree in Home Economics Education from Florida State University, and her Masters in Consumer Affairs from Auburn University. In 1985, she began her 30 year career with UF/Lee County Extension Service in Fort Myers, as a Family & Consumer Sciences Extension Agent. She acted as County Extension Director for 6 years in the areas of education and community outreach. She served all Board positions for Florida's Alpha Delta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi and 3 years on the National ESP Resource & Development and Management Committee, as well served on numerous local charitable organization Boards in the Fort Myers community.

Celia was a precious gift to all who were fortunate enough to know her, with her infectious smile, sense of humor, zest for life and beautiful soul. She was always giving and helping others in need. Celia started walking to raise money for Cancer Research and later became a marathon runner, enjoying the camaraderie with her "running peeps," travelling to races together in places like Paris, Dublin and San Francisco, to name a few.

In 1990, Celia married the "love of her life," John Andrew (Andy) Hill, and they shared 27 wonderful years of marriage. They loved having friends and family to their home frequently for cookouts and welcomed all that appeared at their door with open arms and hearts.

After Celia retired in 2015, they moved to Alachua, where Andy accepted a job opportunity and it allowed them to be closer to their beautiful home in Blairsville, GA. She quickly made "walking" friends in their new community of Turkey Creek, and their neighbors embraced them both. They were a major help to Celia and Andy during her 15 month battle.

Celia is survived by her husband Andy, siblings John Vance, Bill and Debbie, her beloved step-Mother Bettie Bugg, and her extended family, along with many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
