Chad Christian "“Redd”" Verret

Obituary:
Chad Christian Verret, age 34, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on April 9, 2024. Chad was born on July 12, 1989, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Julia Barnes and Ellis Verret, Sr.

Chad, known for his warm smile and loving nature, cherished his family and friends deeply. He was a bright light in their lives, with a special love for children and animals.

Chad is survived by his mother Julia Barnes, father Ellis Verret, Sr., grandmother Louise Barnes, brothers Shaun Syvick, Ellis Verret, Jr., Justin Verret and only sister Raquel Verret, as well as godparents Michael Barnes, Angela (Missy) Blanchard, and Kenneth Barnes. He also leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Chad was preceded in death by his grandfather James Barnes, Sr., grandmother Joyce Verret, and uncle Kenneth Barnes.

Chad attended Fannie C. Williams Middle School and Opelousas High School. He worshipped at Ray Avenue Baptist Church and was previously baptized at Cornerstone Methodist Church, where he also sang in the choir.

A talented individual, Chad practiced Karate at Blue Lion's Academy, achieving the title of Junior Master Coach in 2005. He also had a passion for cars and enjoyed expressing his creativity through drawings.

A funeral service will be held on May 4, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Ray Avenue Baptist Church, located at 4712 Ray Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70126. Boyd Family Funeral Home in New Orleans, Louisiana 70126, is assisting with the funeral arrangements.

Chad's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
