To the Russell and Brown Family:

On behalf of the Hauser, Black and Hughes families, words cannot express how deeply sad we are regarding the passing of our dear loved one Charlene. She was always there for us during the passing of my sister Edna Earle Sterling, and above all the illnesses and death of both her friend Carolyn (Bootsie) and most recently as this past February her daughter Sharon Hughes. I will truly miss her calling every month to see if I was okay.

I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

To the Russell and Brown families:

Words can not express our family's grief upon learning of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Charlene Russell Brown. Perhaps the following poem best expresses our feelings of how Charlene would want to be remembered.

AFTER GLOW
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

To The Russell family: I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your loved one. Charlene was a loving person who did not ever seem to meet a stranger. Her infectious smile and warm manner put you at ease when around her. It has been many years since I saw her last but I will never forget her. The link on earth may have been broken again but one day it will be mended. May GOD comfort you at this difficult time.

On this Thanksgiving Day I have to add a few words about Charlene. I also worked at the hospital for many years, retiring in 1997. Although Charlene and I worked in different departments, I still became acquainted with her. Her personality and smile was infectious. She was one of the most friendlest persons I have ever known. And I think all these pages of condolencences in this book speak volumes about the character of this lady. She lived her life caring about her family, her community, her patients as a nurse and her Lord as a Christian. I can just imagine Christ with outstretched arms saying, "Come on home Charlene, and rest. Well done thou good and faithful servant." So I am thankful today for having crossed paths with this good friend. May God give peace and comfort to her family and friends. I know she will be greatly missed.

Oh they tell me of a home far beyond the skies, Oh they tell me of a home far away, Oh they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise -- Oh they tell me of an unclouded day. May God bless each and every one of you. Take comfort in knowing that you all loved and cared for Charlene the best that you could, but God loved her best. He looked around Heaven and saw an angel was missing and summoned Charlene home. She silently answered His call and went to her heavenly home. She is at peace.

PROPHETESS EYVETTE- ABBOTT MIRACLES OUTREACH WORSHIP

November 21, 2007

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Over the years, your family has helped thousands of familes through the worst of times. We sincerely hope that this out-pour of love and support, along with your faith, will help shore you up during your time of sorrow and grief. We all will hold on to Charlene through our special memories of her. One we would like to share is from her days at St. Benedict. When she passed out peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches at lunch time, she was so free-hearted, that she sometimes gave me (Charles) one even when I didn't have a dime to pay for it. She will be greatly missed, but loved forever.

To the Russell Family:

I am most sorry for the loss you must bear in losing your loved one. Charlene had the most precious and loving spirit. She exhibited the most Christ-like qualities of love, care, patience and compassion to everyone around her. After my mom's passing, Charlene phoned almost every month to check on our family. She was just that kind of person. Now, may the same love, care, and compassion be returned to your family that you have given to me and countless others. May the wonderful memories that you have of Charlene bring you peace and comfort in the days ahead. May God help you to bear your sorrows and heartbreak and shower you with His love and tender mercies.

We know not the day nor the hour...It behooves us all therefore to extend whatever kindness we can, whenever we can, to whomever we can...Such was the life that your sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend demonstrated daily. Her many acts of kindness, genuine smile, and words of encouragement have touched countless lives. -- Even her silence spoke volumes, demonstrating strength and compassion. Charlene embodied the best qualities of Mr. & Mrs. Carl Russell in the way she performed her duties as a nurse and at the funeral home. Remember her zest for life in the wonderful memories that you share....May GOD bless each of you with the courage and peace needed to adapt to a void that cannot be filled.

The really wonderful thing is that she is with your parents and this will make her happy, but I know she is worried about all of her family since as she was described, The Matriarch, She looked after each of you and even gave me one to look out for while she was sick. was a beautiful and vibrant person. I truly
