Charlene Kolar Zachary

Charlene Kolar Zachary passed away peacefully in Castle Rock, Colorado on April 22, 2022. Charlene was born on March 19, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Margaret Kolar. She grew up in Sauganash with her late older sisters, Marilyn (Robert Brennan) and Lois (David Richards). Charlene attended St. Scholastica High School and was a synchronized swimmer at Mundelein College. Charlene was creative, a gifted homemaker, a gardener, a passionate animal lover, and an avid golfer. As a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt, she devoted her life to family. She is survived by her children Jack (Katie), Janet (Mindee Epstein), Kathleen (Kevin) Kranendonk, Karen (James) Haley, Susan (Robert) Maher, and Patrick (Kathleen). Loving and adored grandmother to Laura (Cory) Kemps, Jack, Billy and Lindsey Zachary, McKenna, James and Paige Haley, Remi, Jack and Jamison Maher, and Sophie, Ellie, Maizie and Tommy Zachary.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 2, 2022, 10:00 am at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash Avenue, Chicago, IL. Internment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
