Loved you and your family and hope a Baldone is continuing the Baldone Tailoring business. My brother, Dan Mudge was also a fan. Dan passed-away 14 July 2021. Dan's son, Dan, Jr. met Bear Bryant in Baldone's shop years ago when Frank was living. "Jr" recalls that day vividly. Adios friend.

Butch and I have been friends since 1974. I have worn a lot of his clothes. I always enjoyed hanging out and talking sports.

Rest In Peace Mr. Baldone. You were a nice person. We bought a lot of suits from the Shop with many referrals because of his great attitude and humorous nature. Every Easter, he would alter my boys suits. Thanks for the memories.

My deepest sympathies to the family. Knew Butch through a friend. Met him years ago in his store on 2nd ave.. I remember his sense of humor and smile.
And knowing he was a friend of the Bear really impressed me.
He was a nice man and will be missed.

We are deeply saddened to hear this news. Butch was a dear friend and he will be greatly missed. We spent many Saturdays laughing and talking in his shop while he fitted my husband and sons for suits. He had impeccable taste and an amazing sense of humor. May God grant you peace in this most difficult time. Cynthia and Charles Zanaty

Butch and Rita took me into their home on Thanksgiving over 20 years ago my first year in Birmingham. The whole Baldone family made me feel welcome and like family. I was fortunate to ride motorcycles with Butch and Dominic. It's been a privilege to know Butch and his family.

Butch was a true friend of the police officers on his shops beat. I rode a horse downtown and he always looked out when he saw us coming to share a laugh or two. His door was always open when I needed to come in out of the weather. Always had a peppermint for my horse too. Ever the salesman, Butch convinced me that my husband would look better in one of his suits and he was our family tailor for years. Butch was a good man and will be missed by many.

I think I met my friend, Butch, in 1958 in math class at Ensley High School. From there we had a special friendship that never ended. He would always tell you straight stuff and sometimes you really didn't want to hear. He was always there for me and will truly be missed. Our thoughts of peace and comfort to his family.

the Baldones were my godparents. I grew up with them right behind us. They were wonderful family. Butch was always someone I looked up to. I loved him and his brothers like my brothers. He was loved by all of us. My heart breaks for his family today. I send my love to Frankie and all. May Gods peace sustain you. ♥♥

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of my friend, classmate and neighbor Butch Baldone. I always enjoyed staying in touch over the years and had the pleasure of recommending him to several writers as someone who really did not Bear Bryant. My condolences to the entire family and especially to brothers Frank and Allen, who I remember as little boys in our neighborhood near Woodrow Wilson School. I feel so lucky to have known both Butch and his father. Howell Raines
