Charles Edward Baranowski

I have not had the ability to research the years I lived in Chateauguay until today . I was doing research of people I worked with at Scenery park country club. Then I found that Chuck was gone . He was to be in my wedding party in Sudbury but due to school commitments he could not make it . I moved to Sudbury to start my career in broadcasting .
I remember him asking me to make an audio tape if one of my shoes at CKSO radio in Sudbury which I did and he played it for his class .I was looking for Chuck as it is soon to be our 50th Anniversary and this time I wanted him to be with us .
Do sad the years passed too fast . He was an amazing person .

Chuck was the guy who started modern lacrosse in Quebec. Without him the game so many of us love would not be in our lives. He taught me how to play and he trained me how to ref. Thank you Chuck.

Mr. Baranowski was my Biology teacher at Loyola & also umpired my baseball games. I will always remember his sense of humour & his ability to relate to his students. My heartfelt condolences to his family including my former classmate David.

Chuck was a teacher of mine at Loyola who gave me the gift of lacrosse. Lacrosse is now a massive part of my life and I strive to grow the game like he did so well. Changed the lives of many thank you for everything Chuck.

Chuck had a big impact on my life. He was my swimming mentor. He made sure I took all the necessary courses to become a lifeguard and instructor. He hired me for my first job at camp Kinkora. I was saddened to hear about his death. My sympathies to his family. I just wanted you to know he had a positive influence on the lives of young people in Chateauguay.

I met Mr. Baranowski as a student at C.V.R. when I was in his science class. An amazing teacher. My deepest condolences to the family.

I first met Chuck when he joined our Arcadians' cast of 'My Fair Lady' in 1971. He and a few members of that cast spent happy summer weekends at our cottage in St. Donat. Several years later, during my long tenure with Hockey West Island, I worked with Chuck during his time as President. of that Association and encouraged him in the formation of the lacrosse program. May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Charles family and Lynn. I have very fond memories of him as my neighbor and friend while living in Chareauguay. He always loved being with and playing ball hockey with the kids in the neighbourhood. He was also very kind to our family . May you RIP Charlie.

I was sad to read the passing of Chuck Baranowski earlier this week. Mr. B had a great influence on my high school (C.V.R.)life when he asked me to act in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest playing Charlie Starr. To this day, the Playscript Mr. B (attached photo) gave me has travelled with me for over 36 years. As a tribute to his life, I played the theme from New York, New York on my way to work on Thursday morning. Thanks for the memories, Mr. B!

So sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. He bowled in our Valois league a few years ago and would sometimes catch up while watching my nephews' lacrosse games or just running into him in the West Island. Dear Chuck:
On behalf of all the children you taught and mentored, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will remember you with love and laughter, always...

An unforgettable man. His students will all remember his fiery classroom manner but behind the fire resided one of the kindest, gentlest souls I have known. His eyes spoke for the spirit of a man who wanted nothing less than success for his students and whose congratulations on our graduation day were conveyed with genuine fatherly warmth and pride. My most sincere condolences to the Baranowsky family. I had Mr. Baranowski as a student at Loyola High School and he is the reason I began playing lacrosse. Nearly 15 years later, I am now a coach and the game is a major part of my life. An amazing man.

I cant believe it saw him at my mothers funeral 5 years ago he stood beside me and comforted me the whole time a unique guy proud to have been his cousin deepest sympathies Lynn and to all the family

My former teacher. I have only incredible memories of you. You were a great mentor & we shared lots of laughs together. Chuck was inspiration for me when I worked with him with West Island Hockey. He was partly responsible for the restructure of their program which led to a great hockey development community.
