Charles Edward Stuart Burnett

Oh Dr. Burnett how you occupy space in my heart and mind! The work we did together was made all that much more manageable with you at the helm. Your gentle, old fashioned and heart warming personality wrapped every woman we cared for in loving kindness which is exactly what they needed. Your laughter and smile are forever with me....along with the images of the white chalky hand prints on my scrubs from where you had given me so many reassuring pats on the back. What a privilege to know and work with you. I hope you are waving your arms over your head at a Nelly Furtado concert somewhere up there in heaven!!

Sorry for mot posting this earlier. Just wanted to say that he was my doctor for my last 2 pregnancies in 2001 and 2004. Imagine my surprise after the birth of my last child, when my mom visited while Dr. Burnett was checking in on me....she looked at him funny for a minute, and it turned out that he had delivered me as well, in 1971!

He was without question the kindest male doctor I have ever had.
For years he encouraged me and cheered me on at every visit I ever with him.
He encouraged me to believe in myself and did the same for many others that were also in toxic relationships.
I am grateful you were my doctor and for showing me such kindness and high regard.
I also thank you for the great job you did delivering my son that was 10 lbs!
You will be missed Dr. Burnett but will forever remain in my heart.

Dr Burnett will be remembered well. He always attended my children's birth with humour (always had a glint in his eye). RIP, and enjoy those rugby games from above. I know you'll be one of the loudest cheering on your teams.

Oh my gosh.. Loved this man! My baby doctor.. With me through all of my miscarriages and when I finally gave birth to my beloved son, I waited for him to finish with another birth.I would have no other!! He was so empathetic, so gentle and sweet.I cried when he retired. What an amazing man. To the members of his family.. He has a special place with the angels. Thank you for sharing him with me.

So sorry to hear about Charles'passing. He was a good friend of my husband's, (Dr) Reg Gibbins. And a good gyn.as well as a friend for myself.

My mother Dorothy was a RN at the Royal Alex for many years, and she always stated that the Doctors on the old Unit 27 were just a delight to work with.

I worked in caseroom back in the eary 80s He was very well liked by all. Life is a precious gift Once shared they remain in our hearts forever.

I worked @ the Royal Alex in the Womens'. Pavilion when Dr. Burnett was there. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was one of the Favorites! Joyce Logue.

I am so sorry to hear of Charles' passing. He was such a wonderful friend and partner of my Dad's. I will always treasure the great memories, including all the fun times at Jackfish Lake.

Our sincere condolences to Dr. Burnett's family. My husband's family first met his as neighbours in Spruce Grove many years ago, and Dr. Burnett took amazing care of me during my pregnancies and delivered my son and daughter, now 28 and 26. To this day I still think of Dr. Burnett as the best doctor I have ever had...very skilled but also warm, caring and funny.

My thoughts are with you all , Dr Burnett delivered 2 of my kids and I think if him all the time . My Mom worked for him in Spruce Grove too. He always had a smile every time I saw him, he was and will be the best doctor at that that hospital. Truly a great man and he will be missed, sending you a hug is this time of sadness.
