Cox, Charles ,

Charles Henry Cox, 58, known to his family and friends as Charlie, passed away on February 25, 2017. He was born and raised in Louisville, KY. He entered this world on November 18, 1958, son of William L. and Lola M. (Sanders) Cox. He married young and made a living driving a taxi at Louisville International Airport. He later drove an 18-wheeler over the road, which he loved, for about 15 years. He then made a lifelong career as a commercial and residential painter. His favorite past-times included riding his Harley Davidson, bowling, going to the lake, and watching UK basketball. Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Terry W. Cox, and partner, Nancy L. Cox. He is survived by his wife, Tammy L. Cox; son, Charles H. Cox II (Latasha); daughter, Mary A. Saltsman (Gary); son, Stephen "Baby Boy" Cox (Misty); stepsons, TJ (Alexis) and Dalton Meredith; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Russ (Chris), Angela "Peanut" Brown, and Freda Coomer; and brother, Irvin "Buddy" Cox. Special mention to the mother of his children, Sarah S. Sharp.

Visitation will be at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 3-8pm. A celebration of Charlie's life will be conducted at 2pm on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Additional visitation will be available that morning after 9am.
