I am in great saddness to learn of Charlie's passing....I am a resident that had called upon a city member to help in a crisis and Charlie came to that call and stood by the whole situation and faithfully foreseen the issues at hand after witnessing a horrible mess at one of our apartments...My gratitude to Charlie is beyond words as we have gained change immensely in a matter of months....As I talked with him he was a man of sincerety and grateful to have worked on our situation with him...Thank You Charlie to take full charge in helping to change the community that became negative to a positive, thank you for your awesome support...Charlie you have served your community and now you rest in peace....And only hope for the Crichton Family and friends keep his good memories tucked in their hearts with time to heal....Sincerely, Corinne Kissell

Charlie was a multifaceted person; a principled city counselor, a loyal Rotarian there to help in any civil minded cause, a true friend always there to give encouragement with good humor. To know Charlie was a privilege. Terry- we will all miss him.

It's hard to capture all that Charlie meant to me personally and to the Burnsville Chamber. Charlie was the first Burnsville "official" I met when new to this area years ago. Beginning then, whether you agreed or not on things, there was a fondness and friendship that was always of greater importance. He was a fixture at our Chamber functions, doing his part to keep informed on issues between businesses and the City. He'll be missed around the Wednesday lunch table. I can only hope that his spirit carries on within the council for years to come. Our thoughts and prayers are with Terry and the family.

Terry and Crichton family,
We morn with you the loss of Charlie.
He was a friend, a colleage, a mentor, a diligent civil servant, friend to everyone he met, but most of all, a loving husband and father.
His voice on council will live on through his legacy in the hearts and minds of the people of Burnsville.
We miss you Charlie. I know you will be watching over us... your family, and your city.

I was extremely fortunate to work with Charlie at Control Data. I will never forget him as he stood out with his direct, fair and intelligent approach to every issue. His service to the company matched his later service to community. God bless.

As a 25-year Burnsville resident, I want to thank Charlie for his ethical and thoughtful approach to serving our city. I met him a few times at Fire Muster events and once when he came to our door campaigning. He's the city offical all our neighbors always hoped would show up at our national night out events each August because we're all Charlie fans. A very nice man that I have the utmost respect for. Many, many thanks to the Crichton family for sharing him with us. Rest in peace Charlie.

As a former resident & business owner in Burnsville, I must tell you that after being told by the city government that I must move or be evicted to make way for the "Heart of the City" project, Charlie was the only member of city government that paid me a personal visit to ask me if I was was being treated fairly & if I was "comfortable" with my situation. That told me & should tell everyone all they need to know about Charlie's concern for the citizens & small business owners of Burnsville. I will not forget his efforts on my behalf. May he be long remembered.

We were introduced to Charlie after my wife and I moved into the Realife Cooperative of Burnsville in 1996. We were both involved in the newly formed committee organized to beautify the Burnsville Parkway. It proved to be an excellent way to become acquainted with Burnsville, it's citizens and the city government. I made several progress reports before the city council and thus was often grilled by Charlie. I was always elated when I received a "yes" vote from Charlie when I had made a proposal before the council. This was not an easy vote to receive, most especially when it dealt with an expenditure. I knew fully well to have all my facts and figures in order and to be prepared for some serious discussion. I appreciated his thoroughness and his watchful stance in regards to the Burnsville pocketbook. Wherever and whenever we crossed paths with Charlie he always took the time to engage us in conversation. What a joy to be with and what a Burnsville treasure! We extend to Terry and the entire family our heartfelt sympathy. May the soul of our dear friend, Rest in Peace.
With our love and prayers,

Charlie has always been part of the Burnsville I know since moving here in 1986. Whether his campaign signs were in my yard, or I was driving him in the Fire Muster parade, or discussing "fair to all" dues in Rotary, he created memories that represent public involvement for me. He will remain a role model for us.

I will really miss Charlie. He was always very kind to me. He was sincere in his beliefs and fair. His smile lite up the room.
He was very supportive of our efforts to build affordable housing for seniors in Burnsville. He made a real difference in making sure we built quality housing that was an asset to the community. Thank you Charlie for making a positive difference.

Charlie will be so missed from the BV Chamber, to the city, to Firemuster Board. I've served with Charlie for over 15 years. He was always a freindly face and always made a caring comment. His experiences carried much wisdom. Charlie was committed to the community of Burnsville. As I served along with him on the Fire Muster Board, Charlie was always a wealth of information and a great support. Charlie carried an important status but never made anyone feel any less important. God's blessings to his family and friends..he will be so missed.

Charlie, a good guy who listened and acted when he thought it was right. He welcomed me (and many others) to Rotary and worked hard and constantly to make Rotary better. He lived " Service Beyond Self". Thank you Charlie

As a Planning Commissioner for 7 years, I have been honored to serve Charlie and the rest of the Council. He was a true people's advocate for the City of Burnsville. He always had the best interests of the City and its taxpayers at heart, even if it went against the rest of the Council's vote. I learned a lot from him in terms of true public service. The citizens of Burnsville salute you, and thank you for your years of service!

Charlie was a great person serving his community well. He was very dedicated to doing what was right...not necessarily popular. Charlie stood for the beliefs he believed in and deffended his cause. He was unusal in that respect. Charlie was the person who first allowed me to drive his wifes Lexus when I first opened my business in Burnsville in 1989. He reminded me that several times.I am very happy that Charlie was part of my life because he taught me to stand up for what is right. Charlie will be remembered for his outstanding integrity and fairness of play. Blessings to you Mr. Charlie.
